I've been an Artemis fan for a while, ever since me and my roommates played it at a convention. However, one of our roommates, the one with the computer we've been using as our server, is moving out.

My remaining roommates and I are all a bit strapped for cash, and we're playing the game using crumby laptops and phones. I heard the Raspberry Pi 3 is super cheap and can run a limited version of both Windows 10 and Android. Could it be used as a server until we get a chance to get a more powerful computer?

Could a phone or tablet be used effectively as a server? I really don't want to have to give up on the game just yet, but I have very limited finances. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

A Raspberry Pi unfortunately won't work due to the system architecture. An Android tablet is able to act as server, but the server load is relatively heavy - keep that in mind.

I would recommend you look at Goodwill, or if you have a local college see if they have a surplus department. My local university (Portland State U) has computers that'll run Artemis great for $20 (less than a Raspberry Pi 3)
