Posting on behalf of my other half. We want to play this at the weekend, having last played when she bought a license back in 2016. However, we've been through a couple of laptops since then. How can we get hold of a new version? It was the DRM-free download. She's emailed via the main site several times, but had no response. Are we going to have to buy a new license? Or is there an automated way to get new files? We haven't been able to find one. She has the original email but the file link is long-since inactive.

Thanks in advance.

When I needed this, I emailed Thom, who after verifying my purchase, sent me a link to DL the installer.

Thanks for the response. We've emailed several times via the form on the website and had no response. How long did it take him to get back to you? Are there any other ways to get in touch?

It can take a while to get a response out of Thom. If you don't hear anything and are growing impatient, you might pick up one or two single copies on Steam so you can get going again. Once you get another copy of the bridge license, you can use the copies to support your main installation or use them as a secondary bridge if you wish.

Another option used to be the tablet versions, but those are no longer available. (Or iOS is available but Android has been taken down, or the other way around. I haven't confirmed that myself)

Eventually, Thom should respond, if you bought a copy of a 2.x version and just misplaced it.

We did some detective work and found the old install file! Will we have any trouble running it d'you think? It's version 2.4.0. Is it possible to update it from that install file?

I think it will be possible to update from that file. If you have trouble contact Thom (click here).

He is working on Artemis stuff this week so it's a good time to look for his attention.

Thanks all for providing guidance!

My other half did contact Thom using the contact form, beginning of last week and then again the beginning of this week. I had a poke around and couldn't see any obvious way to update the game from that file - no 'check for updates' on the start screen or anything like that. Not sure what else I would look into there?

Make sure you have the 2.4 installation of the file, not the 2.4 patch. When you start it up, it should ask you for the folder to install Artemis in (or just provide a default) NOT for you to select the folder you have ALREADY installed Artemis in. When you install 2.4 and click on Artemis.exe to run it, it should run properly if you have the full game.

Then download the 2.7.1 or 2.7.2 patch. Run it and install it in the same directory you installed 2.4 in. (Or, create a new directory, copy 2.4 over, and install 2.7 over that. Then you can use your 2.4 installation with the tablet versions) You have to download and install patches manually, Artemis doesn't have an upgrade option in the game itself.
