The previous forum site had a really great discussion on custom Artemis Crew Uniforms.  Anyone care to share what they can come up with for their crew and maybe share resources for uniforms you have made/bought/found and any custom patches that you might have come up with?

This is what my crew is using as a base for our uniforms.

Interesting I have been formulating an idea for my own uniform. I will post the parts I plan to use once I finish my thought process but many stem from the previous thread. One of the keys I am missing though is what are the official color of the TSN. Blue, Black, Silver, What? does anyone know. I always assumed blue or black based on the coloring of everything.

The "Project Draco" crew uniforms are maroon red. A project supported by Thom.

HOWEVER, I could see different color schemes based upon either ERA or LOCATION

Just like Star Trek uniforms changed between movies (ERA) or maybe a "Terran Defense Force (based in/around our galaxy)" might have a different uniform then the "Andromeda Strategic Defense" or "Epsilon Spacial Naval Defense" or whatever you want to call them.

Speaking with Brian Johnson, the Artemis Community manager, I got the impression, while there might be an "official" uniform (hence all the patch work available on the Artemis home site) anyone can 'Artemis' as they like, making up their own uniform designs for their particular crews.  My crew is playing around with black and silver for the uniform colors right now.

If you watch Castle, the episode "Final Frontier" had a show-within-a-show called Nebula 9 that I thought had some pretty fun uniforms. Might spark some ideas for people:

I loved that discussion and contributed to it, actually! [smile] a user by the SN InterestingJohn had some AWESOME uniform concepts which I will share here:

Artemis Uniform 1.jpg

So I came up with my own variation (which he approved of for a "make your own at home" version) that you could put together with a turtleneck and fleece jacket you could pick up for around $15 (some assembly required [tongue]):

Low Cost Uniform Variant Command.jpg
Low Cost Uniform Variant Helm.png
Low Cost Uniform Variant Science.png

If you found the uniform too warm for your play environment, you could always swap out the turtleneck for the appropriate colored T-Shirt and then find a lighter variation of the jacket! [smile]

The badge is my own design using photoshop and elements from the Artemis game resources! [smile]

Hope you like them! [biggrin]

for our Crew, we will be going with Black pants, and t-shirts with a similar look to a star trek uniform from The Next Generation.  We are going to have Patches that say Artemis Staff on them, and then what position they are

I like the design of the jumpsuits on "Star Trek: Enterprise." Say what you will about the show, I loved their costume design. I've been planning a variation of these suits for my crew. Opinions?

I think the uniforms for Enterprise were awesome! I thought they were smart in their design making them somewhere between what we've been used to seeing throughout the shows before and a jumpsuit worn on naval vessels and by astronauts! [smile] I think that something along those lines is prefect for Artemis! [smile]

I've got some variants of my previous low-cost uniforms to share!

Low Cost Uniform Variant Command with Cpt pip Offical Patches.png
Low Cost Uniform Variant Helm with E pip Official Patches.png
Low Cost Uniform Variant Science with LCDR pip Official Patches.png
I implemented the patches from the official merch store on the site! This does make them a tad more pricey, however, as the patches aren't cheap. I think it's worth the cost, though! [smile] The jacket itself is a simple high-collar fleece jacket you can find at Walmart for around $10.

You could use some old fabric scraps for the colored accents on the jacket and as I stated earlier you can always use an appropriate colored t-shirt instead of the turtleneck if you prefer. Another suggestion I have is that for both the colored jacket accents and the patches you give them Velcro backs and attach corresponding Velcro anchor points to the jacket so that you can swap them out on the fly for switching roles! [smile]

Another thing I've added here are the rank pips you see on the right breast of the jacket. They were also from the previous discussion designed by DwayneShaffer and they are actually used in the TSN RP Community Handbook! You'll have to craft your own pips if you decide to incorporate them! [smile] On the white command jacket we have the Captain rank pip. On the red Helm jacket we have the Ensign pip and on the blue Science jacket we have the Commander rank pip.

I'd love to see any other Uniform design ideas you guys have out there! [smile]

Here's another idea I had and for this one I went all-out money-wise!

Artemis Uniform Flightsuit.png

After captain_b mentioned the flightsuits from Enterprise and I incorporated the official merch patches in my last idea, I was inspired to combine them into this new variant! [biggrin]

It might be a bit of a "sin" because the flightsuit is from... *eherm*... Star Wars. [tongue] However, it's the best one I could find for what I had in mind, and you can actually pick them up from ebay for around $100!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Jumpsuit-Flightsuit-TIE-Xwing-AtAt-Rebel-Star-Wars-Vintage-Pilot-Crew-Costume-/291040599395?_trksid=p2054897.l4275

(Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with the ebay seller in the link, it's simply that he is selling what I was looking for)

This idea incorporates the Offical Artemis Uniform Pack, the 'A' Patch, and the Captain's Officer Patch from the official store. (No I have not actually tailored this suit, the image was made in photoshop)

And just for good measure because I like the idea, here it is with the Captain's rank pip from the RP community added:
Artemis Uniform Flightsuit Cpt pip.png

Now if I could just scrounge up the approximate $250 to put this baby together....... LOL!

Okay, I swear I'm not trying to spam, LOL! This is my last contribution to the post for this evening! [smile]

One last variant which combines my low-cost fleece jacket idea with the official patches, uniform pack and the RP rank pip!

Well here is the Charm City Fleets.  The lines will be made from el wire we just ordered 50 ft of the stuff! The emblems will be printed on card stock then lacquered with a clear coat to make them solid and glossy. Those will be Velcroed to the uniform so either arm will display either CCF vessel assignment or station.

EL wire is not exactly realistic for a military organization, but it more than makes up for that in AWESOME.

It's totally realistic for a SPESH NAVY!!  Like having lights on the inside of space helmets and such [smile]  I <3 EL wire, although the inverter's whine gets old after a while...
