Last Saturday we tested the next iteration of Artemis software on five simultaneous bridges. The coming release appears to crash much less often and fixes a few bugs.
In case anyone didn't know what's going on here . . .
Drones fired by Side 2 ships in a mission script will now navigate correctly. As a consequence, another bug in drone navigation was fixed.
For mission script writers the DIRECT command once again works with generic objects. Since generics don't have brain stacks the DIRECT command is very important. It had been broken since April.
I did discover a bug in the end of one of the canonical battles. I had not seen it before because no crew ever reached this ending before.
We did not attempt to use the War Server this time. We did, nevertheless, run numerous scripted missions. And Clavestone wore his sash.
Mission script writers, especially in the TSN RP community, may be pleased to hear that we had a serious conversation with Thom about making the scripting system more agreeable to multi-ship missions.
The bottom line is that the coming release of Artemis does not add much new content, but it should fix a lot of bugs and be much more stable for mission scripts. So for those who enjoy scripted missions there will be a lot of new content.
Thom has not specified a timeline, but the software was pretty stable and I expect the next release within a week.
