Just my 2 cents on this. I have a MacBook Pro Early 2011 and I have been able to install Artemis 2.0 using Wineskin, Crossover, and PlayOnMac. However, the game crashes at the exact same part before the title screen with all three. So I suppose there's some issues due to different hardware at work?

What type of machine are those of you who got it to work with PlayOnMac using?

Actually given what I'm seeing in strace output and what is noted on many a windows machine.. I believe we are looking at a bad D3D initialization or possible a doubled D3D init.  It is failing when trying to enumerate display data. Also while at GenCon when shutting down the game we commonly  (>75% of the time)  encountered an error reporting, 'The D3D device has a non-zero reference count, meaning some objects were not released'

Yet more which leads me to believe a doubled up initialization may be the source of the issue.. .I'm also checking my d3dx9_24 settings to make certain wine isn't using a different version.

Derp I forgot to include my version data.
- wine Version 1.5.29 on Fedora 17

Artemis v2 is working in WINE for me.  Specs:

Thinkpad x220 Tablet
Linux Mint DE (Update Pack 5)
wine-1.4.1
amd64

I'll be playing it on wine-1.5.5 (http://dev.carbon-project.org/debian/wine-unstable/) tomorrow.  I'll edit this post if it doesn't work on that.

Just FYI, Works Fine with these two type of Macs via PlayOnMac (and the 24-inch is booting from an USB Stick)

PlayOnLinux using wine versions <1.5.20 seems to work!
