I'm very sorry, I figured out my problem (I thought the coupon code was part of the URL), and thought my second post above was overwriting the first one, but apparently I can't figure out how to edit or delete my existing posts. Apologies for the foolishness and spamming.

I still have not gotten my coupon code. Are the codes still in the process of being dispersed?

Yeah, regnow seems to be the way to go, with fastspring couldn't find where to input the code...

Anyways, downloaded, and it's AWESOME. The sounds are supreme, as is the music. The new features are great (like, get information about enemy capitain so you know which taunt to use) and new elite abilities are great (now you at least have to see wether they have a tractor beam before attempting mine runs). The game seems harder overall and those neutral-hostile-asteroid-consuming entities are worth studying.

I have to wait a bit to get my crew together to really put 2.0 through the paces. I was able to get it up and running on a few home PCs to give it a go.  Has anyone used the new 3D movement in practice?  Claims are "fly over black holes" and "come up from under enemies".  What's this like in practice?

Like you, I was sort of working the stations solo and didn't find much utility in the 3D movement. Maybe a helmsman with a joystick could do some fancy flying with it, but at one point I set the 'bow planes up' and rose to the top level, which was too high to be tractored in by a station. I think it will perhaps prove more useful with experience, but it's definitely cool to be able to adjust the ship's height in the event of mines or asteroids.

My guess there will be more utility with the 3D environment in Missions.  In the mission script, you can place things just about anywhere in 3D, using Y for up/down.  If you script that an object has to be in a certain sphere, and that sphere is outside the middle point, then the only way to reach it will be to go up or down toward it.  It'll prove interesting, because I haven't seen anything, yet, to indicate where other objects are vertically in relation to your ship--the only way so far I've been able to see that an object is above or below me is through the View screens.

I've done some fiddle-faddling with it as a beta tester.  It's definitely a lot easier to use with a Joystick, but I still haven't found a ton of use for it.  Asteroid belts are now randomized along the Y-axis, so it can be "fun" to maneuver through those.  Minefields can be flow over/under if they are far enough away.  I am a little disappointed that all the the stations appear to be centered on the Y-axis, and all of the enemies appear to spawn centered on the Y axis.  As for attacking from above/below, it's possible sure, but isn't any different whatsoever than attacking from side to side.  I think the submarine aspect will really shine with the custom missions.

Yeah, it won't be any different until we get six shield facings and full rotation around more than just one axis.

That would be awesome to have but realistically wont happen any time soon.

"Artemis: Not realistically going to be awesome any time soon"
We could probably leave that one out of the advertising materials

Hey there,

Anyone know how long it takes for the coupon codes to be sent out? I've paid for Artemis at full price twice now (back in the early days and then again at 1.60), and don't want to have to do so again to play 2.0. I've already done the thing of sending proof of receipt to the listed address a few days ago, but I've had no acknowledgement from anyone that it has even been received. Is that normal and am I just being impatient?

You're not being impatient.  However, I hear Thom's kinda busy attending cons and things for the next few days.  He'll get onto it.
