Hey all,
This is my first mission completed for Vorus and Martok's Into The Breach Mod.

I wrote it to start our new campaign set in the Star Trek universe as the crew of the USS Excalibur.

It's designed to work with the "Where No Man Has Gone Before" roleplaying game. There's a point where you can beam a landing party down to a planet (Ventra system) and the Artemis game "pauses" there and I'll be running a WNMHGB session with the crew. Once they've solved the mystery of the Ventraxi, we return to Artemis and Into the Breach.

I haven't actually playtested this with a crew yet, neither have I written up my notes for the paper and pen part of the game. I've deliberately left it ambiguous, so you could write your own story for Ventra II and it's mysterious neighbour Ventra III.

Have a play, let me know what you think and please, bug test and report as to whether or not you enjoyed it.

I will be posting the GM notes and NPC stats for the WNMHGB of the mission soon.

[UPDATE:] New version of the Mission with audio comms: http://sdrv.ms/15VJHEU

Enjoy!

I would be willing to do dialog.  And if it helps I can do some using Adobe Audition CS6

Yeah, I'll do some voice-over.  I can do a series of character voices, as well.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the responses. I'm going to send you the lines of dialog, along with brief character synopses. Please record as many or as few characters as you like. I will PM you all with my email address.

Also, for those of you playing the mission, who don't know your Treklore, the opening chapter is the M5 computer wargames in which Kirk's ship hosted a powerful computer. The Excalibur was part of the task force ordered to engage the M5-controlled Enterprise in a harmless tactical test.

Play the mission to find out what happened!

(USS Excalibur was a Constitution class vessel for those who like to stick to canon.)

Hey everyone,
Thank you for your responses.
I've updated the mission to include the audio files, with a rather spectacular "onscreen" death to boot!
Thank you for your involvement.
You can download the new version here: http://sdrv.ms/15VJHEU I've also updated the original post with the link.

The next thing to follow are the stats and GM notes for running the paper-and-pen side of the mission.

Enjoy!
J

Hey, there are some great voices in that! [smile]

I think one of the sound files was duplicated though - refit001 and refit002 are the same file...

Quick Update and a cry for help.
We ran this last night and everything went GREAT up until Chapter 3, with a mission to repair relay stations.
No matter what we tried the "Press P" command in the script didn't kick in! Without being able to progress that stage, we couldn't complete the chapter and I had to hack the script to pieces to insert the last chapter into a mission by itself!

Can anyone shed some light as to why this didn't work? Here's the script:

  <event name_arme="Relay42" id_arme="31be724c-c394-4c92-adb8-3df11d3cad9c">
    <if_variable name="Relay42" comparator="EQUALS" value="0.0" />

I modifyed some part of your mission (mostly vehicle types).

For me Relay BOL-44 always leave the map... Shouldn't it be a station?

Under Into the Breach it should be a neutral Generic Buoy with no engine power at all.
However, I've modified the ITB VesselData.xml to comply with Artemis 2.0 (work in progress still) and the vessel IDs have changed.
I've found that using Race and Hull IDs can be a bit random in terms of what model/ ship you get.

My current plan is: redo Vessel IDs and side numbers so that they match ITB 1.7 on my VesselData.xml

Update the MISS_Excalibur001.xml to use Vessel ID numbers to lock down what kind of ships you get.

Introduce greater waves of ships. I wasn't concentrating on vast numbers because of the heavy use of pen and paper roleplay for the majority of our game. I'm thinking I might do two versions.

Also: Is it possible that a client station that hasn't run the server and so triggered Windows Firewall Allow/Block dialog box, might not be sending Keypresses back to the server?

Hi there,

Just to give you some player feed back from the session JSpaced ran. I played the captain, so I knew a little of what was happening at the very beginning and found the reactions of my crew was great.

Up until the glitch with the keypress everything ran fantastically. Furthermore I would like to thank the guys who did voice acting for the mod as it added a great extra element of imersion to the mod. We all had a great time with it and I am looking forward to the next installment.
