I'm trying to save myself from having to recode these two files for 2.0 (also, the DMX file I got from Michael Mesich absolutely rocks!). Can I just copy the DMX Commands and the Controls files into the 2.0 folder?

Absolutely.  There are a crap ton more DMX triggers available now, but your old file works just the same.  You just have the opportunity to do so much more

Also, I think controls.ini is the same, but there are additional available bindings for helm climb-and-dive.

I'm not as worried about the controls file - as a matter of fact, you brought up a good point, as I need to add the climb and dive bindings anyway. It won't take that much trouble to just redo them in the 2.0 controls file.

You peaked my interest about the DMX stuff - what new triggers had you found?

Any Chance we can get a copy of that DMX file or start a DMX file forum?

You ain't lyin - there's oodles and gobs and piles of DMX goodness! ! ! It would be cool if we could have a sound file of somebody screaming triggered when a redshirt gets capped! Or maybe an engine sputtering when the energy drops below 50. The possibilities are endless!

I'll see if I can post that file of Michael's. He posted it in the old forum, so I don't guess he would care if it goes out again. When I get to the server computer I'll see if I can upload it.

EDIT: did find the thread

All credit to Michael Mesich:

As I mentioned on the Facebook Artemis BattleGroup page, I found myself completely losing my DMX configuratrion file. So I spent the morning last Saturday recreating it for an event I held yesterday.

The good news was that it prompted me to integrate (*cough*steal*cough*) some of the great features that have been brought up since I first made mine.

Since I combed through a lot of threads to find these golden nuggets of code, I thought it might be nice to have a one-stop shop for people to be able to find interesting effects they are looking for.

You can find my most recent DMX configuration here: http://sdrv.ms/XZN6Bx

Number of lights: Two slimPars with settings of 0/1/2-Front and 3/4/5-Back (remember to set lights to one digit higher). I shine these lights into a splash pool directly above the players on the ceiling. The front light always gives shield status, the rear light gives other status info. Both react to hits and damage.

Normal - Standard White
Shields - Standard Blue with 1772ms fade-in
Tractored - Standard Yellow with light pulsation
Docked - Standard Green
Red Alert - Standard Red with initial triple flash and then a slight dim every 1000ms
Damage 20 - Light blackouts every 4500ms across both lights
Damage 40 - More dramatic light blackouts every 4500ms across both lights
Damage 60 - Very dramatic light blackouts at 730ms/1450ms/1000ms for chaos
Something Hits - Alternating asynchronous white and blackout flashes across both lights

I hope this is helpful and thank you to the people I've taken the nice change attribute code from!
