I don't know how many games we've played so far but we consistently have our crew of six who are now pretty well versed in their roles and somehow with all the chaos we've managed to win every single one with the default settings except we do put the mode on very interesting and increase the level with each weekend we do this.

We are going for Lucky Seven next and hope to record it for You Tube. We have since made uniforms, granted they aren't the best looking but we are starting to look official. I'm still struggling with DMX lighting but will get that solved eventually. Lastly, we have someone from the forum giving us a design mockup and price for five stations. So far they are great although a little pricy but I'd expect nothing less for them because they will look quite good.

Anyway, I mentioned all that because I was hoping for an awesome video for everyone as the TSN Gallifrey either drives the Kraliens back to their side of the galaxy or we get severely beaten and sent back to a space station awaiting for our next assignment as a garbage scowl. Alas, I don't think we'll have the bridge completely done by the time we make the video but maybe when we play eleven finally.

We haven't tried any missions yet because we have some using Windows, one on iOS and one or two on Android, I forget. I've heard that many won't work with non-Windows systems so I've held off until we get a full compliment of PC's running on the same Windows platform and then we'll start exploring those.

I haven't had this much fun since I burned my grandmother's wig!

I found these;

My son plays tactical so I was going to get him a red one, but now he says he wants the captain one. Mutiny that's what I call it! Good thing we dont run a Klingon ship where he has to kill me to replace me. [wink]

I don't have the pictures (yet). Three of them were done and the other three my daughter is sewing up for us but on the next battle I'll try to remember to take some pictures. [smile]

I studied the Klingon language and did pretty well for a few years but stopped and now I can hardly remember much of it. I do remember "bortaS bIr jablu' DI' reH QaQqu' nay'" (Revenge is a dish which is best served cold.)

The uniforms are navy blue long sleeve t-shirts with patches I ordered from the Artemis store. I want to go with jackets too but since none of us are any good at sewing we are starting simple.

I couldn't open the link you gave. It just comes up with a blank page for some reason. I'll have to see if I have some weird setting in FireFox going on.

We are still debating the look and feel of the bridge although I think we are 80% confident on the basic look and what we can afford as well as our skill sets can achieve. Hey, at least we vacuumed the floor so that's a start!

 Try this one ==>      http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=a230r.1.14.1.krvuIR&id=22338243185

But I am sure it will look so lame compared to what your making. I was thinking of sticking together a little machinema intro for some of my missions and it would be cool if I could be in it. I have made a small green screen at work so I should be able to do it if it weren't for the fact that 1. just a yellow T-shirt is a terrible uniform and 2. I look about as much like an admirable as Mr Bean.

Arrew: That worked! I think on the old series, didn't Chekolov and Sulu wear the gold also? Spock was the only one in blue on the bridge and Uhuru wore red. My memory may need adjusting so don't hold me to it.

Charlie: A robot vacuum! Why didn't I think of that??? Ugh, I live alone and since I haven't dated in a while I've had no reason to make the place look nice. So I need a girlfriend for motivation, either that or I have to actually want to clean. I think I'd rather try to get the DMX thing working still with Artemis. Maybe later.

Yellow in TOS indicates command training. Both Sulu and Chekolov went through command training at starfleet academy, cording to canon.  They ones that didn't are operations which get red. Blue indicates some speciality such as a highly qualified or specialised scientist. Or so I understand it.

Might look lame in a clip though just stood there with a T-shirt... Perhaps if I retro-ed it a bit. Will think about it...

I have one of those robot vacume things. My daughter calls it WAL-E and balances plastic teacups on it as it chanters along.

About two hours ago we got finished with level seven. We played with the light cruiser like always, in interesting mode, and defaults on everything else. We didn't make lucky seven because somehow we managed to let three of the stations get destroyed. How we didn't I don't know.

At one point we were under attack, so was a station and our energy was running low and so was our shields. Then we were out of energy and our front shields went down and we began to take damage and I think we lost a Damcon or two but not all. The engineer suggested powering down everything to try to gain more. Except for the rear shield I had him do that and we kept moving along slowly away from the last space station. I had us head for a nebula to try to hide and get our energy back.

We got up to, I think 114 and I had us turn around, fly at warp one through the two fleets heading back to DS4 putting shields up right before we got to them. We ran out of energy after we past through but were still moving along at a snail's pace. I had us take the shields down but let the weapons officer keep an eye out for torpedoes. We were out of beam arc range. Engineering put what little energy we had into warp drive and we went for the station to refuel and rearm. Oh yes, we were out of ammo and I mean everything.

Then we took on the two fleets as they headed our way and defeated them. It was a tough fight and I hate that we lost three space stations and didn't qualify for the Lucky Seven win but we still won the game. Once again, somehow we managed to remain undefeated but I was starting to call for a self destruct at one point when, I think we had a little energy and warp drive was still engaged when we lurched enough to get out of the beam arcs. It was sort of accidental but it gave us the time we needed to get something back in our fuel tanks.

We are talking about trying again next weekend. We'll have to think up some better strategies. We are learning as we go along. Oh we wore our uniforms today for the first time too. [smile]

We tried the Lucky Seven run again using 2.0. We still didn't meet the challenge as we lost two space stations but we are getting better. We still won the level though. Then for the heck of it we decided to bump it to eleven to see it and before hand declared that it wouldn't count against our record of no losses. I put it on Very Interesting also.

Within five minutes or so we lost all four stations and managed to stay alive for 27. Some new ship, new to us anyway, (Skaraan Executor?) apparently could stay cloaked, had warp and could see us in nebulae. I never saw them and eventually we had three on us, out of energy, shields obliterated and red dots all over the place. I raised my beer and said, "It has been an honor serving with you." Perfect timing the ship exploded. LOL!!!

At least now we know what it looks like and also kind of know that we need to find better ways of destroying the enemy or at least saving one space station. I know several have done this before, but the first time we did this was less than two weeks ago. There was a space monster within I think 12,000km of a fleet heading towards a space station. I said something like, "That monster looks lonely. Maybe it needs a few playmates." We proceeded to take it to the fleet to "play". We watched as the monster attacked the ships one at a time. I've since called the maneuver "Operation Playmate". Now Helm, Weapons, and Engineering know what they need to do when I say, "Commence operation playmate."

We are going to create other operations or maneuvers. Some tactics have worked well in the past, some we haven't found yet but that is the learning curve which, when we overcome something only strengthens our resolve.

We've only played with the light cruiser so far simply for the Lucky Seven run. After we nail that we are going to pilot a tougher ship. This weekend will be our third in a row. That's how much fun it is. [smile]
