In ancient days, I released the ship editor tool 1.5, to help modders make their own ships for my game.

Recently, for 2.4.0, I've had to add many new player ships to the game, and (like some of you) I chafed at the super-clumsy functionality of that old editor tool.

So I spent a day or so cleaning up the GUI and fixing some annoying bugs, and I think that time was well spent.  You can get this new version from the downloads page, or this direct link:

Nice. I still find that an incredibly useful tool, I can't wait to try out the new features.

Aw, thank you Thom! You're the best! (late post to an old thing, but credit where it's due I think...)

I'm having trouble working the Ship Editor Tool 2.3.0. Can't find a manual online or in the .ZIP file, either.

My most pressing question: how do I stop the ship model from spinning?

Yes, I think I remember that is normal operation. The ship spins until you stop it. I don't remember how to stop it though. Space bar maybe? I'll check and see and post as soon as I can get a chance.

Good God, it's the arrow keys. I started randomly pressing keys on the keyboard after reading your comment, figuring I could just quit and relaunch the program on case I blew up something vital.

Please, someone make documentation for this thing! [nono]

I wish I'd remembered, but yeah, it's the arrow keys. You may have a point, it might help to put more information on the wiki about how to use the Ship Editor tool. I've gotten a lot of experience using it, I probably have some tricks and tips I could post.

Most of the user information is on the relevant tabs, but there are definitely some things that would help to have in a document somewhere.

The links to the editor appear to be broken. Can anyone point me in the right direction of the updated version?
