Ok.  I tried the .bat installer on a new install of Artemis 2.0, and nothing happened.  I backed up the bat folder then installed the mod and started artemis, but it doesn't seem to change anything.

Ok, what folder is your Artemis install in? The bat file won't work if you need Permission to overwrite files. C:\Artemis has worked well before, as long as the folder isn't marked Read Only.

Ok that's a little better.  The ships look like Star Trek ships and some of the sounds are Trek, but I still get Artemis style names for the class of player vessel:  Light Cruiser (Miranda), Cruiser (Constitution refit?), Battleship (Excelsier?), AdvCruiser (Ambassador?).  The music files are stock Artemis.   Does all that sound right?

Yep! Tre kept the mod pretty close to stock Artemis. Most missions work very well with the mod since many of the ship descriptors are the same. The sounds are mostly stock since I haven't found 21 other good TMP sounds to use. The music was always stock for that mod. I might release a new standalone Star Trek UI mod that covers music, sounds, and interface.

That would be nice.  I like most of the LCARS UI in your TNG mod.  The compass on helm and weapons is a little too busy though.  Thanks for your help!

Keep up the great work! You make a great game even better.

Ok, shouldn't be a hard thing to release. I've been going back and forth on the ring - it's very Star Trek, but it is kinda busy.

I'm glad you're digging it! Let us know if we can make it better [smile]

All the computers need the mod to avoid crashing.

Another newbie question if you'll forgive me guys - how do I change ships in the TMP mod? On the server screen the only option I get is the Miranda Class (Reliant) and on the scripted missions it seems to be the Excelsior - is there any easy way to select the Enterprise as well? Many thanks in advance...

You change ships the same way you do in stock Artemis - from the helm screen.  That should do it, let me know if it's not.

Many thanks indeed - we did find that option on Helm but as we're really novices maybe we didn't use it correctly, it didn't seem to make a difference and we stayed as a Miranda Class. I'll try again though, and greatly appreciate the swiftness and kindness of your reply!

No worries, I'm glad you're having fun!  I'll put in my standard set of questions - What version of Artemis are you running?  and did you use the .bat installer or the Artemis Mod Loader?

I'm using v2.0 and I used the .bat installer. I also made sure Artemis was in C:/ rather than C:/Programs.

Very curious....  Try it again, I suppose, and let me know if it works.  I haven't encountered any problems with it so far, but that doesn't mean there isn't a problem.
