You mean using baycount instead of fighter in the carrierload definition?  Yeah, that's what I've got.  And the stock ships don't define bomber tags on anything but the Carrier anyways, so it should work.  The stock singleseat craft use "player singleseat fighter" or "player singleseat shuttle", which is what I've got on mine.

If I don't define the player ships as carrier types, then there's no problem with leaving the shuttle slot unassigned.  If it is, and all slots are assigned, then there's no problem.  Clearly the problem has something to do with how it's selecting the craft randomly.  I'm playing with having things defined as similarly as possible to the stock game but something is still screwing it up, I just don't know what yet.

Frustratingly, the shuttles and such are clearly be tagged properly, since it loads the models properly when I have it specifically assigned in the Customization screen.

I've come across one solution so far that seems to make a difference.  I renamed the side 0 race TSN, ran a game with a baycount="3" but unassigned ship, and it loaded ok with the 4 stock singleseat ships.  I changed the shuttles to my custome ones and bork, even giving it the name "TSN Shuttle" and whatnot.  I dunno.

OK, updated for Artemis 2.7.0!  I also fixed the fighters thing by just removing the additional shuttles.  So there.  Main link updated, here also: HERE
