Hi all!  Here's a TOS mod for Artemis to celebrate the 50th anniversary!  I've got some stock stations and civilian ships in for now, but I wanted to get it out so people could enjoy it.  All the ships are using mainly stock Artemis stats and UID, so it should be pretty much compatible with most mission scripts.

DOWNLOAD HERE!

I know there have been a few TOS mods so far, but most haven't been updated to 2.4 yet, and I wanted to do something for the 50th.

Installation Instructions:  Make a copy of your stock game folder.  Unzip these files into your Artemis Directory (you should end up with Artemis/dat/Mods/ST_TOS_50) and run Artemis.exe as normal. No installer this time, just make a copy of the base game.

Note:  I have left in several stock stations and ships, mostly due to running out of time to get it done.  I also haven't updated the music or sound effects.  I'm planning on getting to that, but not right away.

EDIT: Now 2.6.0 compatible!

I would really love to have a Miranda-class ship like the U.S.S. Reliant from Wrath of Kahn. Anyway you can put that in here?

Well there wasn't a Miranda in TOS, so the closest this mod comes is the Ranger, which is Miranda-ish. If you're looking to fly TMP-TUC ships, try Tre Chipman's TMP Mod!

It's all the TMP era goodness you can shake a stick at.

For those who are wondering - the current state of this mod is as follows:

Trek ships for both players and enemies.

Stock game stations.

Stock game sounds and music.

Plays very similar to stock Artemis, just looks Trekkier [smile]

I do have stations and access to a variety of sound effects, I just haven't put them in yet.

K keeping gameplay vanilla artemis is fine, not looking for 'balancing' as we're brand new. Hope to get the new sounds too. Esp key beeps and boops. [smile]

You've probably found this by now, but just in case: Your Vessel_Data file: references to some enemy models are missing the leading underscore _ so they appear permanently cloaked! [biggrin] Like I say you've probably already cracked this.
I'm working on modifying the stats, sounds and GUI to reflect "Trek", will keep you posted if I make any progress.
Keep up the amazing work!

Woot!!! Thanks for finding that! I'd noticed that the Romulan BoP was permanently cloaked, but I just couldn't figure out why lol

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

I'll fix the vesselData file for the file names.

Hey Mark,
Easily done, guy as busy as you. (Just don't forget leading underscores in your day job m'kay?) [wink]

I was play testing a bit over the weekend and one of the rarer seen models caused a crash mid-game.
Basically I'd been building up difficulty on a siege map, trying out some sound cues and joystick control. Unfortunately I hadn't scanned the alien squadron so I don't know what the model was but as soon as I got into visual range, the server crashed out.

I'll keep poking at it and let you know what I find.

Wow.  OK, I'm surprised the game loaded at all, considering I misnamed over half the actual mesh files for the ships.  I'm also staggered that the game was ok loading some of the ships with misnamed mesh files.  I'm not shocked that it crashed out with other misnamed ship files...

OK, here's the updated vesselData.xml file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/e0budqxsm5dx2tb/vesselData.xml?dl=0

I've updated the main download as well, but you can drop this on top of the existing vesselData and hopefully it should fix all those problems.  The texture files all mapped properly, but entire races of aliens had no valid ships.  The Klingons were all ok, the Romulan D-7 was ok, but none of the others was set right.

Aiya!  Thanks for that catch.  I'm moving the Meshweaver and Orbweaver to 4003 and 4004 - I want to keep the big ships in the spots where the big Torgoth ships usually go.  Ideally it'll stay compatible with most existing mission scripts.

Main download updated, updated vesselData.xml here:  https://www.dropbox.com/s/e0budqxsm5dx2tb/vesselData.xml?dl=0

Note - I'm going to start addressing all of the edits my friends have me do on their RPGs that way hahahaha

Download link in OP is not working.

Also is this still just for 2.4 or will it work in 2.5.101?

And the vessel data file does it need to be added to the game mod or is the OP link updated allready?
