Picture the results for differently colored station uniforms in a group that tends to shift roles around between missions.  My group would probably take their shirts off and throw them at each other.

But since we're not all the same size, we will probably go with rank pips instead, if we ever start treating the game seriously enough to have uniforms.  What's happened so far is that three of us have Trek costumes, but all from different eras.  Time travel?

No, the navies are called United States Navy (USN) and Royal Navy (RN). But the ships are called United States Ship (USS) and Her Majesty's Ship (HMS).

Technically it would have been more appropriate if Brian had called the navy Terran Stellar Navy (TSN) but put Terran Stellar Ship (TSS) in front of ships' names. But Brian used TSN for both and so many players have adopted it that it has stuck.

Someone that actually agrees with me. So chalk this up to just my opinion.... but it's like in Star Trek an they are making battle plans they don't refer to every ship as USS Enterprise here USS Crazy Horse there. (Also who calls a ship crazy horse?!) It's way easier to identify different ships without the TSN/USN prefix at the front. But the practice does seem pretty common in the various online groups.

Wanted to throw up a quick pic of our Captain doing an excellent job of modeling our new uniforms.  Everyone has the same blue and the station patches are velcro so we can switch positions easily.  The team patch is on the other shoulder and isn't visible.  Everyone but the captain will be in black berets.  Our flash for the beret is a simple sun patch.
