It's a nod to my original game, and an attempt to circumvent copyright. I didn't even make reference to the canon ships in the original version of the game, the players had to infer the connection from the description and the silhouette of the ship. Of course, that game didn't have 3D modeling.

Plus, I really like the names "Aeon Hawk" and (in the new version) "Universe Parcel Service". [biggrin]

Technically, I think you can say that since they all exist in the same universe, they aren't the same as their canon counterparts. That can also help with questions like "Which is the more powerful, the Enterprise or a Star Destroyer?" I can balance them without breaking canon of either.

There's also the ships that are not spaceships in their original canon. (Spacewolf)

Did you ever play the game STARS... As an alternate plot.

The dimensional bubbles of the multi-verse are collapsing and converging into one. As some star systems vanish without warning, others pop into existence and the galaxy gets much smaller, "X" number of rivals appear and fight over these new territories and what parts of their own universe they have left. Aka The Federation, The Empire, B5 and whatever canon you want.

Hell you're idea's so fun you don't need a story. I think for PVP this is a funny idea. [biggrin]

Here's your Battlestar Galactica model, cleaned up and with the "holes" you pointed out filled in. I removed the Vipers I added for Strike Force Seven, so you can use it in your mod.

It should still work with your texture file. You might try using my texture file, or resizing your file to 1024x1024 instead of 4096x4096. Making the textures smaller will also speed up the loading time.

Thanks Ryleyra.

With your skills it might be worth you taking a look at all the models. The "master mod" was really just a bit of fun. It's really the EA one that I wanted to get off the ground.

Sadly I just don't really have the time to keep working on the Master Mod at this point.

I don't know if it's relevant to your mod or if you'd want them but please feel free to use my BSG stuff, Star Destroyer and Firefly (Although there is a better model in the community). You'd have to ask Mark but he'd probably let you use his Trek models in your mod too if you asked?

Thanks. I've already given credit to you in the SF7 mod. I didn't use your Star Destroyer, but I probably will as an enemy in the next version of the mod.

I'm not sure about Firefly. There's certainly a demand for it, but it wasn't in my original game, and I wasn't a big fan of the show. I'm already adding Babylon 5 and the Planet Express ship, and I could easily go to 15 ships or more if I included all the ships from shows in the '90s.

I think what I've decided to do, though, is split the ships into two vesselData files, an original, retro version, and another for modern, more recent ships. The White Star and Planet Express will go in that version. That way I can keep both mods down to 10 ships each. The only concern I have is making the Firefly different from the Quark ship and the Red Dwarf Starbug, both of which are only armed with torpedoes.

As for Mark's Enterprise, originally I used the TOS Enterprise from Into the Breach, but I think I've decided to go with the TNG Enterprise for the "retro" version, and the Enterprise-D for the "modern" version. That's so I can use the Miranda as an ally ship. I hate to do it, because I love the original Enterprise, but the TNG Enterprise is my favorite. And I just learned that I used the TNG Enterprise in my original game, too.

The only problem is, my OCD tells me that the TNG Enterprise should have 12 phasers instead of only 6. [biggrin] But maybe I will count each pair of phasers as one beam, so I can use the current layout.

More like I didn't get to see it. It sounds like something I'd like, but I kind of burned out on space opera after Farscape.

Of course now that you've reminded me, I might add the Moya as well. Not to mention Lexx...
