Enemy arcs get huge in lvl 11, I would say double normal range. Skaraan executors actually have a rang longer than helm/ weapons can see (over 5, 000).

I would like to hear more and I have always been intrigued by the sandbox, but my local group doesn't have enough pkayers to have someone sit out to GM.

The escape pods were cool!

Was the arc thing always like that or just 2.2?

Guys, since you're the only ones that read this thread, I'm going to level with you. Every time I have a fight with Xavier I feel less like doing anything Artemis related. So far we've racked up two since the Summer War started. If I said the sky was blue he'd have to say it was green, regardless of facts.

Actually I quite like a good debate, but that's not how it goes no Tict 4 Tact Q&A it always gets nasty. I used to like making things for the community, about half of all downloadable missions are mine and loads of RP docs. But the nastiness and being called a bully and a racist, well who wants that?

So I think I'll probably step back from Artemis for a bit. Although it annoys me that that's what he wants.

Na best don't get involved.

Just finishing off next weeks mission. It's not quite a level 11 but it has some "nasty" bits in it you'll have to be careful of.

A new enemy ship too.

Have the past missioms not been lvl 11? Cause they've been pretty lvl 11. Also the firing arcs have been like that at least since 2.0. Your enemies are definitely lvl 11 enemies.

I'm getting a little sick of the handful of people coming in and waving their dick around and escalating every disagreement into a multipage argument

Ohh yeah the difficulty is definitely level 11. But the amount of enemies, as in how many ships there are, has been a level 9 or 10.

Next week will be difficulty 11.... Higher in some places [rolleyes] with some boosted ships and a number of enemy ships of about level 10.5 .
I may have tinkered with the AI a bit, or a lot, for a few of the ships as well. How much harder it'll make it is hard to say. Should be interesting to see.

I really hope you guys can pull it off. In terms of enemies it might be the hardest mission I've made.

Mission log of the TSN Gungnir
Stardate 47633.44
Log TX-A219

The Gungnir has traditionally been a solo vessal generally able to hadle itself in most situation, but never has the lack of support been more noticed than recently, especially after the failure of our last mission. Our mission was to locate and destroy 4 shipyards being used by the TAC to build their fleets. We were had 3 supply ships for support. Once again our entry coordinates put us nearly on top of the enemy fleets. Nearly all enemy craft were Krelian and only one mixed TAC fleet. I thought it would be easy enough to dispatch the primary attack fleet and then follow up with the rst of the weeker enemy fleets. I was wrong. These enemy ships must have been the best the enemy had to offere, because even after an EMP strike, several nukes and two mine runs, the fleet was still a threat. We were over run quickly and barely had enough time to re arm ourslves before all of our supply ships were destroyed.
I would make a recommendation to command to please consider an entry point into enemy region that is farter from the enemy. Our non combat vessels are being put into extreme risk that I feel can be minimized with more distance from the enemy fleets.
using our remaining energy and ordanance we went on a direct assualt of the shipyards. The first two we were able to eleminate easily with ordanance and beams. The third was more difficult as our enery reserves were critical, but with an emp and some beams we were able to take it out. The fourth we were only able to reach by shutting down all non propulsion systems. we were able to hit it with an emp, but with no power, beams were not an option. Taking one ast desperate chance we launched our one remaining mine next to the base in hopes that the pursuing fighters would trigger it and destroy the shipyard. Fortune seemed to be on our side as the movement of the asteroid the shipyard was built it set of the min and destroyed the production facility.
Unable to combat the reamining TAC fleets we diverted all power to engines and limped away from the region, leaving the enemy behind.

Mission log of the TSN Gungnir
Stardate 47634.63
Log TX-A219-B

As requested by command the TSN Gungnir headed to deep enemy space to clear enemy forces. This was not our first time doing a deep strike and it will likely not be the last. My crew, though driven to succeed, were tired and ready to dock at home. In this case I agreed with them and we agreed to make this one short. Over utilising onboard ordanance we took every opportunity to destroy the enemy with extreme efficiency. stadard order was bypass defenders, emp, nuke, mop up with beams, move on if resistance was difficult. all bases were dispatched in record time and the ret of the fleets were removed methodically with EMP, Nukes, mines, then beams if nessesary. We were all relieved with the all clear was sounde. The helmsman plotted the course home and we breathed a sigh of relief.

Captain Djeak Dranoel signing off.

Man that sounds like an awesome story against impossible odds and you took out the last base with your last mine? I'd call that a win [smile] !

Yeah although the random algorithm is supposed to be more random it seems like it's putting the enemy consistently too close to the supply ships. What do you think would be a good minimum distance? 30/40k?

Yeah, it was prettu tooth and nail there for awhile.

A couple squares would be good, I don't know how far that is. The last couple of missions have been the supply ships in one squre and enemy in the adjacent square.
