At the moment, drones launched from enemy ships keep going forever, until destroyed or deleted by a GM. 

As a suggestion/ request, could it be possible to add a timer for the drones to be active, after which they "disappear"? This would be the same as the TSN torpedoes and their timeout after a particular length of time. If we could modify the timer on them, it would be even better for those developing mods too. It would avoid the "drone cloud" that can often occur in games, as well as drones persistence in mission scripts like the TSN Sandbox.

Drone burnout sounds like a good update to me. If the missiles we shoot have limited range then the drones the enemy shoot should be likewise limited.

I see no reason why this shouldn't be the case. Maybe drones should have a considerably longer flight time than torpedoes (explaining why they are large enough to be shot down and torps aren't) but once a ship manages to avoid a drone, it's very unlikely that the crew will drop their guard. The drone should only play cat and mouse for so long.

At the very least, scripts shouldn't fill up with drones until they become a resource hog.

Its not the first time it has been brought up, but generally there other things that are bigger talking points and it tends to get buried.
