Hummm... should be able to.

Although there is a bug in the mission "Changling". If you don't answer the distress beacon for the station in the lower left in time it can cause a spawn "issue".

Great work with all the missions - can't see how I missed them.

OK, so this is a little embarrassing but I can't get it to work.

I download, unzip and drop it in the missions folder - does not work (when hit start server in game says something about the directory/wrong filename). Tried to change the folders name (add: MISS_) but no success.

Help?

You are the man all day. Works like a dream.

Just added a list of the suggested order on the wall of our bridge setup-room.

(Can also mention that we tried out the Ardent 1 and 2a yesterday and had a blast - whole crew were stoked [smile]

Btw and a little of tihs topic but... for other missions which are not packed this neet way - how should I rename it to get it to work?

Basically the file and folder must have the same name starting with MISS_ . that's all I know [biggrin] .

Glad you enjoyed them [biggrin] .

Hey Arrew, wanted to let you know that I recently started playing this game, and have a group of friends that I have playing with me. We'd only done 2 missions before starting this STAR campaign. Last night I got a total of 8 people together, manned a carrier, and we played Children of Anarchy and Legacy of War. We had an absolute blast! I intend to play through all the missions you've made for this game, and I'm really excited to see the rest of your work. Wanted to let you know that there are still people really enjoying your missions and who hope that you continue to make more so the fun doesn't end once we catch up!

Man that's great to know. Thanks a lot for posting. Makes me think making them was worth while. [biggrin]

I'm tinkering with the idea of making more and if you have any ideas or requests let me know. [smile]

As an update, last night we played Fortuna Relays and Kubia Lost. Things didn't go quite so well in Relays. We tried using a Jump drive, and having to make so many jumps back and forth around the system with no station to dock at really made it hard to manage our energy. After realizing we'd have to go to a third sector we decided to just abort the mission and move on to the next.

Kubia Lost went better. When we encountered the new enemy, we didn't gather the sense to destroy it before there were already over 30 other enemy ships chasing us! Had to spend a good amount of time luring those ships into traps and taking them out, which was somewhat tedious, but it was a memorable encounter otherwise.

Hazy have you been playing these missions on the newest 2.4 version? I encountered a few of the older missions (not these STAR Corps missions) that didn't play well with 2.4 so we're only been playing newer missions. But if you have had good success then I may add these to the rotation to play.

Haven't noticed any issues beyond other players not being able to see planets correctly, but I believe that's due to them not having the missions installed on their games.

Thanks for the update.

The missions were not meant for jump ships, that must have been a real challenge! In this early missions of mine I think I was way to tight about giving out energy. I think Kubia lost could do with a black hole perhaps to deal with all the spawns?

Sometimes I think about updating and improving the missions but there are so many of them. And you're right, Some of them with special meshes need the mission installed on all the clients too.

It's tough but if you want a new jump mission try Ximni Awakening 1 and let me know how you get on. Thanks.

Some friends and I are trying Artemis today for the first time and thought the STAR missions looked like a fun place to start.

When we receive a comm that instructs us to press a number on our keyboard nothing ever happens.  Is there a special setting we need to use?  Currently we only have the mission files loaded on the server... do they need to be shared with all the computers, not just the server?

Thanks!

That function can be a bit iffy and these Missions are quite old.

Make sure that the Comms station is selected and readied up BEFORE starting the mission is started on the server. If the Comms player disconnects or changes consols during the mission you may loose the ability to interface with button presses.

I don't know about current versions but some older versions used to just bug and button presses wouldn't work for no reason in particular. It was rare though, but the only way to remedy that was to shut down and restart the server and all clients.
