The schedule for Artemis Armada is here: Schedule

It shows events in the Main Ballroom ot Second Floor Conference Room. We will actually be using TWO second floor conference rooms.

MAIN BALLROOM
This room is on the first floor. If you are bringing a bridge we expect you will want to set it up in here. The Main Ballroom will have a powerful wired network supplied by Artemis Armada. It should easily have enough bandwidth to allow 20 bridges to play in the same Galactic War. The Artemis Armada network will not be connected to the hotel's network. ALSO THE ARMADA NETWORK WILL NOT BE CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET.

CONFERENCE ROOM ONE
This will be an ordinary classroom-style conference room for panel discussions, Q&A sessions, and presentations.

CONFERENCE ROOM TWO
This room will hold a stand-alone bridge (perhaps two), briefing room, and game master station. It will be used for Canonical Battles and Game Mastered missions. There may be some room for an audience to watch the crews perform, but since we are capturing the Canonical Battles on video we would like spectators to remain as quiet and let the player's voices be captured.

If you have questions I will try to answer them.

I was wondering about the conference rooms. [biggrin]

So the Armada Network in the main ballroom will be wired, not wireless? Will wireless connections be available for tablets and such? I'm actually planning on bringing a wireless router, so we can practice in our hotel room. (Which isn't at the Doubletree) Would we be able to tie into your network?

Of course, by "tablets" I mean Windows 8 tablets, not Android/iOS. [biggrin] They obviously wouldn't work for the 20 bridge battle. (Although they might still work for earlier games in the ballroom)

The Artemis network will have two wifi access points for tablet bridges to operate in the hallway outside the ballroom. This would put them on the Artemis Armada network but still not on the internet. This hallway is actually a pretty nice space, but if there is space in the ballroom it is possible that tablet bridges might move in there.

Why do you believe they would not work for the big War Saturday night? If they connect to our wifi they should be able to push us above the 20 bridge level.

Android/iOS isn't up to version 2.1.5, and thus won't work on the War Server. Unless that's an incorrect assumption...

Ryleyra, I misunderstood your previous message. I thought "they" referred to Windows 8 tablets. I am not aware of the latest developments for iOS and Android.

I figured as much. I think I have enough to make a full bridge of 6 laptops, though. The tablets are for emergencies and backup. I have a Surface Pro and a cheap 11" Windows tablet I bought just for playing Artemis. And a couple of Android tablets. I can probably lend out what I don't use.
