Hello Officers,

Very new player here. Looking for advice on specific position pairing for my office.  The room is very long and narrow, so it makes set up challenging. If you had a room like this, which station would you pair up where, and why?

*Note, the very forward positions will likely not be able to see the projected screen very well, so keep that in mind*

Hoping for info like:

{Weapons} {Science} {Fighter}

{Comms} {Captain}

{Engineering} {Helm}

Any advice about position set up is greatly appreciated.

Not knowing the actual deminsion of the room makes it a little more tricky. However I would say that the stations that need the screen least are comms and science, engineering is helped by it a good deal, but could probably do without constant access, weapons more than engineering and helm probably benifits from a constant good view of the screen the most.

With the configuration of three in front, two middle two back; I would probably go with comms, engineering and science I the front. weapons and helm in the middle and fighters in the back.

For the 5 person table in front I would say science and comms in front, weapons and engineering on the back sides and helm at the head of the table. Fighters in the back.

Alternatively you could put two fighters in front since they don't really need the mainscreen at all other than sight seeing.

The room dimensions:

Top wall (With projector)  6'11"
Left wall 14'2.5"
Right wall 10'6" (to 135 degree turn)

I should have mentioned that I allowed 30 inches of space between all seated areas in both of the above diagrams, and that the "desks" for the laptops I would custom make to be 18 inches deep to maximize what space... still trying to figure out the configuration, but I'm pretty handy with making tables, and the wife has given me the thumbs up to buy some wood [smile]

edit - what about the captain for your recommendations?

If your not using one of the seats for a fighter have them use that, if you are then they could stand or just use whatever seat you have around. Most captains end up stnading a lot once the actions starts [smile]

Looks good, thpugh I would probably switch comms and weapons on both those layouts. Weapons will appreciate a good view of the ships they blow up [wink]

Helm, Weapons and the Captain typically need a good view of the screen. As mentioned, though, the Captain tends to stand and move around, so he can stand behind Helm or Weapons if he wants a head on view of the screen. Science, Engineering and Comms don't need to see the Mainscreen display quite so much. Fighters don't really need to see it at all, and for immersion, they probably should be positioned away from the main bridge area. But not too far away, unless you have some sort of voice chat.

The "board room" layout is actually quite functional, even though it doesn't resemble a typical "bridge".
