I am trying to get a ship to fly straight to a given point. I cleared the AI, set the angle and set the AI to point throttle to the point, but it's not going straight there. When I looked at the realtime debug, I see the message that path finding is turned on. Is there a way to turn path finding off?

Is there a different alternative if I want a ship to fly along a straight line, regardless of nearby obstacles?

Thanks

Not with POINT_THROTTLE, I don't think. I think what you want is DIR_THROTTLE. I'm not sure that turns pathfinding off, but you can check and make sure.

If that doesn't work, you may want to try the direct command. It's deprecated for ships, but I think it still works. If it doesn't, you can create an invisible generic mesh, direct it to the location you want, and use copy_object_property to force the ship to follow the mesh.

It should be noted that giving a friendly ship a Comms command with FOLLOW_COMMS_ORDERS active will also turn pathfinding off.
