Hello all I will be setting up my bridge for Artemis at OMG Con look them up here http://www.omgcon.com/index.html.

I will have my bridge system that I built so that you feel a little more closer to being on an actual bridge. Come out and try it. As time goes on I will be upgrading the build to better things to make you feel even more like you are on the bridge. The games will run an hour long each session and do not cost anything to get into them. A donation will always help the building of a better bridge.12744661_10207736892813665_589329850275859050_n.jpg

Awesome!

You should mention that the OMG Con is in Owensboro, Kentucky, USA.  As much as I'd like to come play unfortunately it's a bit far away for me to do so on short notice.

That is very nice! It's very simple, but the round shape and inset monitors give it a very authentic feel. I assume there are chairs for the layout, but my first thought was that it might be fun to play standing up. [biggrin]

I might look at that when I do the touch screen consoles and they will not be against the wall either. Thats why I am looking at doing donations at cons that don't charge for events so that I can upgrade the bridge.

This is very exciting. Your design brings the feel of a full command center. It also allows observers to watch the total operation of the bridge. A Proto type for a trade show booth of Artemis. Something that could travel to all the major conventions and promote the game. The fact that you do not have touchscreens currently in your design allows your bridge to become large digital signage for the game while still allowing crew to function. By adding electronic communication (headsets) you could actually get it to function in a very loud crowded floor.  Welcoming more people to experience Artemis. When you do go to touchscreen in order for observers to actually see the operation they have to huddle around you. I believe it's a brilliant design. And over the years as you modify it will continue to serve you quite well. Looking forward to hearing more of your experiences at the convention, set up time, breakdown time, crowd flow. And of course the interaction of you and the attendees. You're going to have a good time.

This is a nice setup!  Would you be interested in starting a thread in the LBE and Custom Bridges section about how the bridge is put together, notes on design and construction, how well it packs and transports, etc?

Well once I upgrade I will have to build a whole new one so I will still have this one too. I plan on making more so that we can do tournaments and head to head battles. I am working with someone to actually draw a bridge for me that I can make my model after. He has drawn many ships before including the bridges for them so this will be a good thing in the long run. I am also looking at trying to immerse the players as fully as possible so that they get the feeling they are on an actual ship. This is going to take time, effort, research and lots of money. If you have any ideas on this I am willing to listen. I am also going to be contacting the Artemis guys and asking if they will let me do laser etched badges and things that I could sell to the players to make things look better.

Very nice!  I'd suggest checking the LBE and Custom Bridges section for ideas and tips - there's a lot of good info there, especially on some of the more immersive bridges.

I thought the same thing. The colors and angles look like a WWII wet navy warship in which the officers stand at their stations. It's a great look!
