Reading about and observing all the cool mods for Artemis, got me thinking about if there would be interest in developing a Mass Effect mod. I'll be honest and say I don't model, but perhaps they already exist online by fans. As well, with the number of species in the actual game, a galaxy map could be made with various species defending their sectors.
---CITADEL COUNCIL--- The Council is an executive committee composed of one representative each from the member species. Though they have no official power over the independent governments of other species, the Council's decisions carry great weight throughout the galaxy. No single Council race is strong enough to defy the others, and all have a vested interest in compromise and cooperation. SYSTEMS ALLIANCE More or less the TSN in Artemis, these are human led ships that should definitely be player controlled. Fighter, Frigate (Normandy), Cruiser, Carrier, Dreadnought ASARI REPUBLIC A pretty powerful species that patrols and defends their sector's Diplomat Stations. Frigate, Cruiser, Dreadnought, Destiny Ascension TURIAN HIERARCHY The most powerful navy of the Council species. Their Command Stations are quite formidable as well. Fighter, Corvette, Freighter, Frigate, Cruiser, Carrier, Dreadnought SALARIAN UNION A moderately powerful species that defends its many Science Stations. Frigate, Cruiser, Dreadnought HANAR ILLUMINATED PRIMACY Very religious "jellyfish" people that patrol their sector, defending the space whales. Frigate, Cruiser ELCOR COURT A seemingly slow species, but their ship has powerful cannons. Cruiser VOLUS PROTECTORATE A dwarf like species dedicated to profit, their mighty dreadnoughts defend their Trade Stations. Dreadnought ---ALLIES--- QUARIAN FLOTILLA Not considered to be members of the Council, but are still regarded as loose allies. Their ships wander from sector to sector, mostly looking for their sworn enemy, the Geth. Corvette, Frigate, Cruiser, Carrier, Dreadnought KROGAN CLANS Also not considered members of the Council, but will assist Council species under attack in the Krogan DMZ. Frigate, Cruiser, Dreadnought ---ENEMIES--- CERBERUS A human survivalist and paramilitary organization. Their mighty fleets defend their Cerberus Stations. Enemies to everybody. Fighter, Shuttle, Frigate, Cruiser, Dreadnought GETH COLLECTIVE A race of networked artificial intelligence that defends the Heretic Station. Mostly in the fringes of space, the Geth will attack in fleets. Fighter, Frigate, Cruiser, Dreadnought KROGAN MERCENARIES Since the Krogan can only defend their sectors, many have taken up as mercenaries and pirates. They usually only show up alongside Batarian ships. Frigate, Cruiser, Dreadnought BATARIAN HEGEMONY A hostile species, especially against the Systems Alliance that they enjoy to raid. They also patrol the Terminus Systems. Frigate, Cruiser, Dreadnought REAPERS Basically more aggressive Biomechs. They should probably only appear rarely, but will create a swarm if provoked. Okay, I've decided I want to create this, based on excitement from my friends.
The main idea is playing the Normandy, or another ship, of the Earth Systems Alliance. The players will start in the Sol System, but can use Mass Relays to visit other Clusters with systems of planets and suns. Alliance systems will be safe, as there are military patrols. But the further away you go, there will be patrols of Batarians and Geth. Perhaps Alliance systems could be raided. Eventually, the Reapers could appear as an infestation. There will also be the other Citadel (friendly) races and neutral races defending their systems. But, I don't know what to do, or where to begin. I have been doing some research into the Mission Editor and digging through the XML files.
