It just occurred to me that I don't know if Fighters can see the enemy targeted by Science. I would guess not, but this might be a convenient way to point out targets. (Perhaps TOO convenient)

Just asked our fighter, and apparently, no they can't.

I believe one can see the Science targeting reticle while watching out the windows in the hangar, which isn't much help. It would very much be helpful if fighters could also see it, since there are currently zero ways to point out targets.

Adding some way to identify targets is pretty crucial, in my opinion, even if it's just putting ship designations hovering over them. Although, if the pilots are up to snuff on their ship identification skills, science can call out things like "Torgoth Behemoth on the relative port side of the group."

Yeah, I think lack of designation is number one on the list. Maybe Thom could replace the help with a target indicator, displaying the ID, hulltype, range and bearing to the target. (You can still call up help with F1) That way the screen won't be cluttered up with IDs, and Thom won't have to add IDs to the first person view display.

A distance indicator would also be helpful when trying to dock with the home ship.
