I recently created a party role playing game and with it, a very detailed map of the inside of a Deep Space Station for the players to explore during the RPG.

Both the map and the game are now online for everyone's use.  The map is in both PNG and AI format, so you can use/modify it for your own games.

The game (DS2 is Offline) is designed as a one-off adventure for 6-7 players + a GM for 4-6 hours.

That is pretty impressive. And it seems to do a good job of setting a scale for the base. It would make sense for it to be small if there are such few decks.

Really nicely thought out!  Out of curiosity, what's your ballpark station population?  It's something that's been left deliberately vague, but do you see this as like a 400 Crew + 800 Civilian sort of place?

I didn't actually do any calculations on inhabitants.  I figured it would be about the size of a small city, so I... picked a nearby city, looked on wikipedia, and doubled it for the player information for the game:

About DS2

Civilian Population: 115,182 Civilians, 2128 Stellar Navy Personnel, About 200 Transients/ Visitors at any time.
Density: 6193.8/km2
Habitat: 20.98 km2

Time Zone: YSKAC (Year-adjusted Skaraan Central), TS-4 (Terran Standard), SNS+16 (Stellar Navy Standard)
Mail Zip Codes: 2344829-97548 - 2344834-89431
Transportation: Centrally located elevator column, individual tower stairs and elevators. Construction: Circular, 3 main rings, with smaller support landings. Built: 2215, during The First Spiral Arm War

Primary Purpose: Monitor the Skaraan border

Industry: Penal Colony

Housing would really be tight!

That said... I don't have any preference to population.  I figure people can adjust things to suit themselves and their game.

Really nice! Thanks [smile]

I've convinced my D&D party to try something else. I'm now preparing an RPG / Artemis adventure.

I'd love to hear your experiences. I'd like to start small and get everyone settled in this kind of setting and the whole artemis controls.

Are there any maps like this of the ships?

The only one so far is the TSN Battleship, which can be found here: https://artemis.forumchitchat.com/post/tsn-battleship-7063033?pid=1284142903

The floor plan evolved a lot over the course of the thread, so check out the 2nd or 3rd page for the final version. I never did do the Light Cruiser, although I intended to. Maybe I will go back to it, but now I will need floor plans for the Ximni ships too. [biggrin]

Not to mention the Carriers. Figuring out how the landing bays work should be interesting.

Nice! Thanks. How did you make them?

I just edited Arrew's version. Arrew probably got his images from a NX Enterprise blueprint. (The warp drive is recognizable as the one from Enterprise)

Actually, now that I think about it I found the original source he used. I used it to create some of my profile views.

Honestly if I were to do it over again I would probably use CattailNu's graphics as a source, or draw my own. The colors are nice, but mostly irrelevant.

My space station map I created from scratch in Adobe Illustrator, from and with a screenshot from Artemis of the deep space station.  I used a variety of ship/station maps as references for the types of things to put on the station.
