Hey y'all,
So I'm trying to use a usb joystick with the helm station. Unfortunately despite having the joy stick plugged in on Artemis start up (I verified it worked by using it with a different program) I can't seem to control the help with the joystick. Any suggestions as to how to fix this? Thanks y'all!!!

What kind of joystick are you using?

You may need to edit your controls.ini and bind your joystick's buttons and axis controls there. I know I did.

You will most likely need to edit your controls.ini file. This is found in the Artemis folder on your hard drive. Do know that if your controller uses HAT buttons, you will need to get a program like Joy2Keys to get them to work. Artemis does not natively support HAT keys. This may take some trial and error to get it to work though. Artemis reads some of the buttons weirdly (Windows was saying button 3 was button 3 but Artemis read it as button 5 for me).

I've been trying to use a MS Sidewinder. It's a pretty basic usb joystick. I wasn't aware of the controls.ini file, I'll take a look at that and see if I can't get it to work. Thank you all so much for the suggestion as to where to look. I am hosting my first Artemis Party this weekend and really want to make a good impression lol. I'll keep y'all updated!

Looks like a good setup you have! Did you test it to make sure it all functions properly?

Yes, Those are the settings we play with every week.

I'm looking at Joy2Key so that we can use the HAT for controlling the view screen settings.
