This is sort of a pre-Battle Story.  My son, daughter and I have played Artemis for a while now (at least a year) and tomorrow evening we plan on having a get together at our house with a full bridge crew, mostly of newbies.  We have version 2.0 and plan on running it in general mode for a while, but I was wondering if there were any scenarios for 2.0 that you might recommend for us to try out?

We just introduced a group of new players to Artemis 2.0 last Saturday. We had a number of people who wanted to switch around on stations and another set who wanted to get a deeper understanding of the station they started on. We ended up with two ships for a good part of the event so this could happen. (I was captaining the ship with the engineer who was super-focused on learning that station, so I was happy) We started out on level 2 or 3 in regular Siege mode and just ramped it up a bit as we learned. In previous meetings with other players, we've used the canned mission scenarios to get a better feel for how those work, but I think it might add complexity for brand new players. There's a thread here in mission scripting which lists a large number of missions scripts which are updated for 2.0. I'm sure you'll find something there that you could bust out if people start to get restless for a change.

Thanks, I've been playing in siege mode since version (somewhere around) 1.3.  I even wrote a short mission script for 1.6ish.

I'll look at the missions and see what is there.

For missions try the ones by chas. Like something, "torgoths this way comes". If you have enough people for two ships or you are looking for a challange try "guardians" and of course te Deneb missions always work.

I wasn't worried about your level of experience. I was thinking of the new players you talked about. Throwing them into missions before they've had a chance to practice their stations and arrive at some standard operating procedures for transit, battle, recovery, docking, etc. just makes for a frustrating experience.

I found the link to the post I mentioned:
