We played a few games last night for the first time, and we ran into a problem a few games in. Upon starting a new game and clearly selecting Dreadnought, our Helm and Weapons showed the display for the Light Cruiser, but Fighter bay showed 2 fighters. I rebooted my server completely and same thing happened -- sometimes had Helm show one ship while Weapons showed another. Only after rebooting the server several times did the problem fix itself.

Anyone have this experience and/or know how to prevent or fix it? Thanks.

All the ships running the current version, I'm guessing? That's really odd. All Windows machines?

When the problem occurs, have you disconnected the station and reconnected?

Yep, it was our first session, so we all had a fresh install of 2.5.1. And all machines running Windows -- no tablets or anything.

I had everyone shut down their clients completely, and rebooted the server computer. Didn't solve the issue the first time. Rebooted the server again and then it fixed.

Hm, interesting.  It sounds a bit like some packets were getting dropped - Artemis tends to default to the Light Cruiser if it is confused about something, and so that might have been it.  Disconnecting a client from the server, then reconnecting (not so far as rebooting) should get an updated info packet from the server if that was the problem.  I don't think I've experienced that particular behavior, but let us know if it's reproducible!

Yeah I was thinking it might be a hardware issue -- the server computer I was using was a repurposed machine that only had 4GB RAM (didn't notice until after our session lol). We'll use a more powerful server next time we play and see if this occurs again.

Make sure the players do NOT click "Ready To Play" until AFTER ship selection is complete.  IF they had wrong display, have the use Option {hard upper left} Console Select, and just re-dot the "Ready To Play" there.

In our case, we exited and restarted the clients -- but maybe that was an issue, so but that's good to know. Thanks!
