Hi all -

I developed a mod for the Modding Panel at Artemis Armada IV in 2018.  This was a relatively basic mod, showing off how to do a variety of things.  The main points of modification were:

Adjusting the weapons and torpedo loadouts in vesseldata
Adjusting the energy and torpedo supplies from stations in artemis.ini
Changing the ship and station models in the game
Created custom .snt internal files
Changed the engine particle effect
Changing the mine model
Game Splash Screen logo
Skyboxes

Things not yet changed:
Music
Sound effects
More different skyboxes

Current Artemis version supported: 2.7.1

Game assets from the game Altostratus, bought from the Unity Asset Store.

Please give it a try and see how you like it!  DOWNLOAD HERE

Mark, you are awesome!

I had hoped to get my hands on this mod before the convention this past weekend because there would have been a ton of people lining up to play a steampunk-ish Artemis mod. Unfortunately, the timing of the realease didn't work out.

Surely someone out there makes Steam Punk keyboards and joysticks to use with this mod. It looks wonderful!

It looks much more Dieselpunk than Steampunk.  But it looks cool regardless.

I say Good job old chap!

Yeah, I'd been hoping it would have skewed more steampunk than dieselpunk, but I wasn't finding the kinds of models that I could use in the game for it.  Being under a time crunch for Armada IV, I opted to get models I could find rather than spend all my time making a bunch myself.  Maybe for Armada V 😋

It appears that the mod is somewhat instable. I'm not sure why this is, and it might just be related to the fact that I was playing all stations on one machine, but so far the game crashed when I 1) switched to the science station, 2) entered the fighter bay, and 3) while just randomly flying around without switching stations. It doesn't seem to happen every time I switch from or to a station, nor is it consistent as to what stations I switch to or from when the game crashes. Has anyone experienced similar issues?

I haven't experienced this - unfortunately, it may be related to some of the inherent instabilities of 2.7.1.  Considering how random it it, I don't know if there's any good way for me to track it down.

Strangely enough, everyone tells me 2.7.1 is very unstable, but apart from some general software crashes (which happened once in a while on almost every version since 2.0, but seem to happen more regularly on 2.7.1) 2.7.1 runs smoothly enough for me. It was in this mod that I noticed a ton of issues, so either it was pure coincidence that these issues would show up when I tested the mod, or I was paying attention to it more.

Regardless, I agree that the issues seem very random and that tracking down the cause(s), if at all possible, might turn out to be a nightmare.
