Year Two hosting at Gamestorm!  Last Saturday (3/22) I brought on a crew of 5 untested cadets, gave 'em the basics, let them fiddle around on Level 3 for a bit, and then tossed them into a Level 7 Interesting Sector to let them try their mettle, and they did not disappoint.  We had 2 other ships competing for nukes & glory, and much fun was had by all.  After two hours I scrubbed the crew and started over with another 5 newbies, and had the honor of serving with my favorite science officer ever.  Kid couldn't have been more than about 12 or 13, and I have never been so thoroughly well-advised from the Science Officer's Station in any of my previous gameplays.  Play continued well on into the afternoon, with multiple ships & much awesomeness.  Looking forward to running it again next year!  [cool]

A kid that young being that good? I think this kid was born in the wrong generation. He needs to be a few hundred years later so he can be a real science officer and save real lives!

Anywho, glad to hear you had a great time!

Zaphod78 - @ last year's Queen City CONquest (last week end of August, so same roughly time frame) was playing with random groups of strangers.  1 crew had no one in charge* so this young girl took over.  She was 10, 12 years old.  Did a BANG-UP job, too.
