So I’ve spent the last couple days working on getting a custom ship added to the game, I succeeded yesterday, except the ship’s textures and scaling were a bit off, so I recreated the DXS and STL files, updated the texture file, and updated the VesselData XML, now, when I log into the game I can select the ship on the server and it looks great, the scaling and the position look right, but then when I start the game it crashes to desktop without any messages. Does anybody have any thoughts?

So, I tested some more tonight, I noticed that the textures were technically 4 times the size of the default ships, so I reduced the texture files to 1024px, this succeeded in doing one thing for me, it reduced the lag time when navigating to the ship in the server screen but the server still crashes like clockwork once I try and start the server.

For posterity: I'd done everything right, except: it turns out that "A" and "B" don't seem to do anything for the ship interior, and "B" actually crashes the game. Well, I redid the interior and it worked. Eventually it crashed while I was flying the ship aimlessly from the helm, but I'm willing to put that down as general buginess.
