I know it's just about as likely as snow but it would be awesome if there were some kind of Artemis presence at China Comic Con.

Although I'm sure that the asian cosplay will sooth my disappointment.

Dude...  all you have to do is get six working laptops and the game will sell itself.  (That whole build it and they will come theory)  I know that a lot of Comic Con goers expect a bunch of glitz and glam but if you book yourself with the gamer portion of the con, you can go pretty low key and just have people play the game!!!  The first few presences of Artemis at Gen Con was very low key but people were playing the crap out of it!

<LOL> The thought crossed my mind. But I wouldn't know where to start. Not really my industry.

First the language barrier may be a thing since it's in english and Science Fiction is a very neach here... then again so are comics I suppose...

But I don't have the gear.

Also how do you guys actually make any money?

On a comical note. If you search "comic con guangzhou" on Yahoo, this thread is the third link.

How high profile [tongue] .

Thom has said before that if you charge folks to play at a convention, he doesn't expect you to hand over any of the cash.  He does ask that you tell people where they can buy the game themselves.

Are there laptop rentals you can access?  You only need 6 of them for a weekend, and they don't exactly need to be high-end.  Either a large-ish TV or a projector would finish it off, and you can play on a table.  That's how most of Thom's convention setups are - 6 folks along a table looking at a TV at the end.

There are several folks on the forum who take Artemis to conventions pretty regularly - I think they charge XX$ for an hour of game, including 10-15 minutes of instruction and ~45 minutes of actual game time.  I'm not sure what XX$ is, and it probably varies by convention.

I think I'll give it a miss this time around..

But I am curious... Is it possible to change the text displayed on the consoles? Like the words Nuke and Forward on the main screen view selection?

Wander if it's possible to translate it into Chinese.

Arrew - tell the crew they've captured an alien ship, no time for translators to work up a new set of stickers!  #ExtraChallenging!

Actually some of them would like the English. Would make it seem more, "international.

But it would be cool if I could add in Chinese. I know you can changed the HUD images in the Dat folder. I just wander if you can do the same thing for the actual text?

I don't know how popular Artemis would actually be in China, since they don't really get Trek and Sci-Fi is pretty limited except for imports. But then the novelty of it as an import may make up for that. Most developers are keen to get into the Chinese marker so I wander if it's something Thom might warm up to.
