EDIT: OK for some reason it now works

OK running into some issues.

When I click the scripted missions button the game crashes.

Any thoughts?

Are you running a clean version of 2.0?  Not 2.1. or any other version?

Clean 2.0

I ran the game once in solo mode to make sure everything was loading properly, then i tried the scenario mode and it worked.

I will test again this evening to see if i can repeat the problem.

darn it's crashing again

EDIT: Ok I've narrowed it down some.

Here is what I do in order:

Step 1 -Install fresh 2.0 copy of Artemis and run it, scripted missions works.

Step 2 -Install BSG Server Mod then run Artemis, scripted missins crashes.

Step 3 -Install BSG Helios System Missions then run Artemis, scripted missions works.

Step 4 -Install BSG Module Strikes then run Artemis, scripted missions crashes.

-Uninstall Strikes Modules then run Artemis, scripted missions still crashes and requires a clean install up to Step 3 all over.

That's pretty much what I can figure out.

Is the Strikes mod standalone? I did not see anything specific about that in the rulebook.

Are you selecting MainScreen and GM console on the client consoles?  I just did a test with mine and it worked for me.

I've just installed a fresh copy of Stirkes on top of what WAS a functioning copy of The BSG server mod with the Hellios Missions also installed.
When I click on the scripted missions button it constantly crashes no matter how I do it.

I've tried with a helm station with the main viewer and game master options selected
or
Helm and main viewer,
or
main viewer alone
or
game master alone

Absolutely nothing works with the Strikes installed.

Now I have to once again uninstall everything and build it back up to the step that works consistently.

It's not such a big deal since if I understand correctly Strikes only adds fighters
but I thought I would make a mention of it should you want to work this bug out.

I noticed you did not select Weapons.  That has to be selected also as far as i know.  Give that a try.

I'm afraid there is simply now getting over it. With ALL stations selected and ready to play the scripted game still crashes the instant I hit the button.

I will test it on another server to rule out anything machine side but if the server module works fine then why would the strikes module not work on the same machine.

Not sure what to tell you but I can say that some work in is being done on the mod to hopefully make it easier to install and work.  Hold on for a while and I will let you know the progress!!!

Any chance someone could make a vid to show how to add new ships, what programs you need etc? It'd be cool to put in some new graphics.

Here may be part of the problem - installing the Strike Fighters mod actually deletes several of the mission folders.

Try this: once you have the server/mission mod installed, just change the camera settings in the artemis.ini file.:

BSG Server                      BSG Strike Fighters
cameraPitch=-0.25         cameraPitch=-0.35
cameraDist=350             cameraDist=30

That's the only actual difference I can find so far between the two versions.

@Arrew - do you mean to this mod specifically?

I think there really needs to be a mod FAQ - I'll get on that.

Wookiemart, have you gotten it working yet?

Is there an error message at the time of crash?

There are a lot of things a mission script can do to cause a crash. In general the three most common are:

  1. Referring to a file that cannot be found.
  2. Spawning an object beyond the edge of the map.
  3. Spawning an object at the same location as another object (distance=0).
Usually when any of these happen you get an error message that gives you a hint at the problem.

Sadly I have been too busy of late. When I get a chance to test things out I will post back here.
