This should load the mod automatically if you load the server first and then the mission mod. Or maybe I don't understand the question or what the mod loader does.

Artemis Mod loader allows you to switch back and forth between several mods (like the TNG mod, the Into the Breach mod, and others) with out having to completely close out, uninstall the mod to install another mod, the mod loader does the switching for you.  all you have to do is activate the mod you want, and it will deactivate the other one automatically.  it does the same things with missions

Yes.  It is not designed for Steam Version.  As as for the Mod Loader I do not think that there are any plans to have it work with the Mod Loader.  Then again Dwayne might have other ideas...

So I bought the game after it was version 2.1.1 - so this won't work for me?

probably not, per the OP's original statement that this version was built specifically for 2.0.

However, make friends and talk nice, prove you own the 2.1 installer, and maybe somebody will send you the 2.0 installer.  While not wholly legit by the licence, your situation is rare and it's the same $40 to thom's wallet anyway.

not that I'm advising you to violate the EULA, but things like this have been worked out in the past by people who paid legitimately and hit a odd case with the installer.

That is correct.  At this time, the BSG mod is only intended for the 2.0 version.  As time allows, it may be updated to work with the 2.1 version, but there is so much changed that in the BSG version that it makes having the 2.1 update unnecessary.  However, in your case, having 2.0 is needed.  And as Janx said, you might be able to score a full 2.0 install and then you can run both the 2.1.1 version as normal and have the 2.0 version with the BSG mod on it.

If I can obtain a zip file of the mod--instead of the installer--I can set it up so that it works with the Artemis Mod Loader.  AND--the Artemis Mod Loader does set up the various versions of Artemis such that if you first install version 2.0, run the Artemis Mod Loader, then install version 2.1.1, the Artemis Mod Loader will set version 2.0 as its own mod.  So, in this case, if I get that zip of the BSG mod, you'd be able to still play BSG on version 2.0 through the Artemis Mod Loader.

I tried running the installer and extracting the pieces to build that zip file myself--but it proved to be a pretty overwhelming effort, as it's not easy to figure out what is the Mod and what is Artemis.  I could just give up and zip up everything and call it the mod--but it was something like over a GB--kinda an overkill.

Are you volunteering? [wink]

What would suffice "proof?" Screen shot of the receipt email?

I understand that changing a mod to a game that is also in development is asking for a TON of work, so I wholly understand why Longbow doesn't want to keep up that kind of workload. That said, I'm also a big BSG fan, and was planning on making some missions for my friends/group that would take place in the BSG universe. So when I saw there was a mod I was stoked - only to see that I had invested in the game a few weeks late.

Thanks again guys.

So, I've been playing with this mod a little, and I have a bit of a confuse....

I've gotten everything up and running, however the dialog options appear to be unchanged from the original responses, and any ships I create (colonial ships, vipers, etc) are all marked as hostile.  Am I doing something wrong?  I'm looking forward to running this mod with my crew, but I need to iron out things like this first.

Thanks,

Kayila

Ok!  Progress!

I've done a bunch of experimenting with it, and I found some information that may help point to the culprit...

If I start the server and THEN join with the Artemis ship and a main screen selected, the ship auto spawns immediately and all the neutral ships are actually neutral towards me.

If I start the server with the ship clients already connected, the game begins with my ship unspawned and I need to click the 'respawn player ships' button, which then causes any 'neutral' ship to show as hostile.

Not sure if there's a way to fix that..  Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Kayila

Here is a link to the manual for the Mod.

Kaylia, all ships are listed as "enemy" in the mind set of the game, as in all ships can be targeted.  They will not attack you (I don't think) if they are colonial, but you can attack them by accident and destroy them!  There are some colonial ships that are "rebels" and will come after you if your GM decides that a bit of a religious civil war is needed.    I hope you are enjoying it!    Just follow the instructions in the manual and you should be good to go for getting started up!

Hi,

First love the mod, though one of my crew was complaining about shields not being bsg cannon [smile] and something about armour which could be fixed at stations.

Also running on a mac it crashed whenever I tried to use client though worked in server mode for all options (missions, solo, coop etc) and one of my friends on windows 7 crashed every time he tried to set up a server on mission mode.

I will finish by saying I love the voices and the effects, though was hoping for a nuke white out effect when viewed through main screen.

SERIOUSLY LOVE THE MOD
