Interesting. This is similar to an old bug that used to occur when the game was terminated. First of all, I would make sure you're running in Administrator mode. Then try uninstalling and reinstalling the software.

I'd suspect the latest Windows Creator release, but I installed that myself, and Artemis still runs. Maybe it's your graphics driver?

As a last resort, try downloading the 2.4 and 2.5 patches from the main site. Downgrading might be a temporary fix, if it's something in 2.6.

Also, you might try changing your resolution. You don't seem to be having the small start screen problem, but it might fix the problem with the cursor not responding.

One workaround for this (which is IMHO "safer"): install Artemis into C:\Games\Artemis rather than C:\Program Files(x86)\. Windows OS protects the Program Files folder.

The ultimate fix would be for Artemis to be rewritten to conform to the Windows guidelines for "Least Privileged Environment", which is about as fun as it sounds. Ugh! So much mod breakage...

Glad I could help. I'm not sure what the problem is, but the game doesn't always install with the ability to launch in admin mode as it is supposed to. Sometimes it works anyway, sometimes it doesn't.

Also as Lawson Thompson says, it depends a lot on where you install it.

I recommend picking the "Install just for me" option, which also shouldn't have this problem.  Not sure whether the steam install has that option.
