Here's what happens when I try to load Artemis:
  1. A window pops up that takes up about 1/5th of the screen that says "Game Window" with the Artemis logo in the application icon.
  2. After a few seconds, the screen disappears.
  3. I receive no error message, but Artemis has clearly not launched.
I'm running Artemis on the latest version of Windows 10 (10.0.16299 Build 16299). Here are some steps I've already tried:
  1. Running as Administrator.
  2. Swapping between 2.4 and 2.6.
  3. Running in Windows 8 Compatibility mode.
  4. Uninstalling and re-installing.
  5. Installing in Program Files and in c:\Artemis.
  6. Changing my screen resolution.
  7. Updating my video drivers.
Any ideas? I'm at a loss. Thanks!

Disable your a/v and try again.  If that fixes it, whitelist Artemis.

SOLVED!

I was able to solve the issue be installing an old 2.1.1 install EXE I had, then running the 2.4 upgrade file on top of that.

I just had the same thing happen to me today and solved it the same way.  Reinstalled the original exe and then upgraded to the latest version.

I am a steam purchaser. I got a 6 pack and want to be able to run version 2.4 for iOS to be able to join in the game.  I don't have version 2.1.1 to install first to then run 2.4 so what can I do?

I have the exact same Problem trying to run the Version 2.7.0 under Windows 10.

The demo from the homepage (version 2.3.0) is working just fine on the same notebook.

Is there a way to turn on some kind of error logging etc?

I tried installing 2.4 over the Installation, but that did not do the trick either.

I installed DirectX9 and removed the respective DLLs from the Directory, but that did not help neither.

I found the error: I still had the demo installed. After uninstalling both and reinstalling the game the error disappeared.
