Welcome to the board! There may be a crew close to you already - the Bridge Crew Comms section is for announcing or looking for games, both local and online:
The next mobile version release should be 2.3, hopefully soon based on this thread: http://artemis.forumchitchat.com/post/2-3-0-for-ipad-is-in-testing-so-theres-that-8082724
There is a demo available to download if you'd like to try before you buy: http://artemis.eochu.com/index.php/downloads/
There's an unofficial wiki that has screen shots of the consoles: http://artemiswiki.pbworks.com/w/page/44188987/Station%20overviews
Welcome aboard! __________________ Note - this is in no way intended to be an official position of Thom or Artemis, as I am not an official representative of the creator or game.

Check out the other pages of the Artemis wiki as well. There are screenshots of all of the available ships, as well as the enemies. There are also many pictures of the game in play.
If you'd like to watch a video of the game being played, there's a great video in this post: http://artemis.forumchitchat.com/post/made-a-video-for-a-library-game-day-8059714?pid=1292120999 Also this: http://artemis.forumchitchat.com/post/we-used-a-public-access-studio-to-play-artemis-during-a-live-show-8088027?pid=1292055409 You can also check out the videos of the games at Artemis Armada in that forum. There used to be videos available on the web site, but they aren't there any more. Just search YouTube for "Artemis SBS" and you'll find them, though. Finally, take a look in the Off Topic forum for some of the Mods that let you play Star Trek or Battlestar Galactica ships. If course, Thom can't officially support that, but the work the players have done is pretty incredible.

Here is an archived page of old screenshots that Thom provided a few years ago. They are pretty good but they don't include the newest ships. If you want up-to-date screenshots of the newly released Artemis 2.4.0 your best source is probably player posts to these forums. https://web.archive.org/web/20120618092927/http://www.artemis.eochu.com/?page_id=44 __________________ "The Admiralty had demanded six ships; the economists offered four; and we finally compromised on eight." - Winston Churchill

Remember that if you try the demo, that the actual full game does...well.... 100 times more !
The demo is VERY limited.

So with v2.2 out on iPad (thank you very very very much btw), now we need a PC 2.2 version.
I bought 2.4 just last week and then downloaded the 2.1 'downgrade' to play with 2 iPads, 1 windows desktop, 1 windows laptop. I bought the $40 DRM-free version. So...now I need to 'upgrade' from 2.1 to 2.2. When can we expect a download of this? Is there already a link for this or a way to do this that I just don't know about? Thank you!

(2.2 was skipped due to a bug) The download link on the site needs to be updated to the 2.3 "downgrade". Unfortunately 2.3 is not compatible with 2.4. We can't remove the 2.1 link yet, though, because it is still needed for Android. I've found out that the patch is still present on the site, it's just there's no longer a direct link to it. Go to the Artemis wiki at http://artemiswiki.pbworks.com/w/page/39352315/FrontPage. There is a link there that will download the "downgrade" directly from the artemis.eochu.com web site. This will work for Android, too, even if Thom removes the link from his page or changes it to 2.3. Just to mention it, I also found out that the War Server is also still available on the web site. There is just no link to it. I've now added a link to the wiki.
