Ran through a few test runs on our large bridge tonight before our regular game night here at Gecko, and did find the "Data" screen does like to crash a bit.  Deep strike was incredibly fun even on the easy level we were testing at.  Good problem solving of managing scarcity.

Will be running multiship tomorrow, did that bug fix get a version number increment?

Yes, the bug fix should show Version 2.1.1.

So, can anyone answer whether the 8 new stations are space stations or bridge stations?

The "8 new stations" are "space stations" not "bridge stations".  The 8 new stations are 4 enemy stations and 4 additional types of friendly TSN stations.

This is described in the changes.txt file in the base directory of the program:

"Added 8 new stations, and radicaly upgraded what stations can do.

Each of the 4 standard enemy races has its own base type.  These bases can all defend themselves, and have various shield strengths.

There are now 5 TSN bases.  The old base has been renamed the Deep Space Base.  Some of these bases can also defend themselves.

All friendly bases still produce torps for you, and let you dock.  But different bases have modified production speeds."

The only new "bridge station" (know as a client mode) is the Data client:

"There's a new client mode, called Data.  This mode toggles between LRS, TACT, and INFO modes by pressing space.  This client mode exists so, if you are blessed with extra computers/screens, you can have an extra screen that's locked to a specific data presentation."

Oh wow, so looking forward to playing this! We are going to have a ball in the TSN RP community! Can't wait to update the Sandbox script with the new stations either!

Biomechs appear if you set "Monsters" higher than none, and I believe enemy ships also appear at higher difficulty levels. They appear very scattered and only in single ship fleets, and may represent advance scouts. Since I only saw a Skaraan, it's also possible that it's Skaraans only.

I was kind of hoping there would be some sort of trigger that would set off an invasion. But I couldn't see anything of that nature. It's possible that the back and forth missions between bases and friendly ships could trigger a foe or two. They may also spawn randomly. If so, this could be fun for an extended gameplay session.

Actually, since killing off all foes triggers game over, there MUST be some sort of mechanism to spawn foes, or Peacetime would end right away. Maybe you have to kill a certain number of foes?

Right, I was complaining on the previous page because this description is totally ambiguous and freely mixes the term "base" with "station". I am used to people talking about wanting new bridge stations in Artemis, not new space stations.

I think for Space stations Thom uses the words "base" and "station" and for Bridge consoles he uses "Console" and "Client mode" so maybe if the whole community adopts that usage it would cause less confusion later?

Even the official manual switches between calling them 'consoles' and 'stations'. With phrases like "battle stations" and "man your stations" commonplace in the genre, and the entire premise of the game centered around the bridge consoles/workstations/stations ("client mode" is a totally unacceptable term since it will have no meaning to most people; I play Artemis and write software and I still had no idea what 'client mode'" meant here) it's imperative to use the full phrase "space station" when referring to a base

I have been gravitating towards using the term "console" to refer to a bridge station because of this confusion.

In the Kindle Fire HD version, The Start Menu is messed up.  All you see is a black screen with the credits, and then a brown screen scrolls in.  I reported a problem with the main menu screen when the first update came out.  In the first update, the main menu screen use to lag.

Also, are you guys going to every fix the Helm Screen.  When ever you load weapons, there is a bar that blocks out the text for what ever weapon is loaded in the tube.

I hate to sound all nit picky, but I thought those minor things would be fixed by now, and not getting a response on them, is kinda frustrating.

P.S.  I have the PC version of the Game as well.  The Weapons text being blocked is on all versions of the game, no matter what screen size you choose.

Yeah, I've noticed the 2.1.0 release on Android has just the black background, and then a green bar "crawls" across to fill the screen. Or, that's what happened the first time, when I loaded it up again to check it stayed black.

It looks like a skybox file is corrupted. I don't know if the game itself has problems since the Android can't run both Client and Server on the same device. I'll have to check it against the PC version.

Yep, it's doing he same for me too now.... Just the black screen with the credits and game options.  When I start the game up and connect to the server I made on my PC, the game looks and plays normal, It's only that title screen that never seems to work right.

A new version of the manual is forthcoming. It will include descriptions of the new friendly bases and the enemy bases.

FWIW I have always preferred the more military term of "Base" for a rearming/resupplying facility. The term "Space Station" is reminiscent of "Train Station."

"Console" is a very NASA sounding term, but not quite as military. A crew member might say: "My console shows that warp engines are overheating!" But no captain will ever shout: "Man your battle consoles!"

No matter what the manual says, I expect players to continue to refer to their bridge positions as "stations."
