Such an arrangement would require neither power nor Ethernet in the Admirals' area.

Beyond that the actual organization of message flow would be up to the players. IMO it would be pretty a dramatic way to go, and solidly in the motif of Artemis whereby player-to-player information is communicated by voice.

Sounds like a very workable solution to me. Should be a lot of fun to be on COMMS with all the fleet chatter. I will rededicate the 'AUX' and 'STN' buttons to headset volume and push-to-talk respectively to spice up the COMMS console.

And to show a bit of what Ive been doing with my time:

First real batch of TSN ships about to come off of the bed. Ill probably do 2 more just to make sure we have enough.

20200225_003759.jpg

Test print of the Civilian ships next to some already printed TSN ships (I scaled the Cargo and Transport ships Waaaay down cause they are huge)

20200225_003920.jpg

Starting the first run of the Civilian ships. Ill probably do two runs of these, then onto terrain and Bases;

First run of civilian ships is complete and they came out really well!

20200226_183717.jpg  Im currently doing another run and those should be finished Friday.

That will give me;
46x Cargo ships
42x Transports
24x Destroyers
26x Escorts
12x Science Vessels
8x Luxury Liners

The TSN ships are a little rough since I was still experimenting, so I may redo some, but by tomorrow I will have at least after two runs;

9x Juggernaughts
12x Battleships
8x Dreadnaughts
8x Missle Cruisers
6x Mine Layers
10x Light Cruisers
14x Scouts

I will probably do one more run of TSN ships just to make sure we wont run out.

If there are some ships you feel I should make more of just let me know (Luxury Vessels? Do we need more of those?).

Are Ximni ships going to be able to be built/played by players?

Looking amazing!  I think we're probably good on civilian ships at this point, and while more player ships is probably a good idea, I'm also going to say you probably don't need any more dreadnoughts or Juggernauts 😋 A run of a few pirate ships might be in order, though.  There won't be any player Ximni ships in the War.

That's something we can probably accommodate at the admirals' table without tripping a breaker, but we're pretty close.

The Mumble server is VOIP and will be running on a Raspberry Pi; I think 2-3 amps at most. I can provide two laptops with USB headsets for the Admiralty to use for comms; power supplies are rated at 1.5 amps apiece. We could run them on batteries during the day and charge them at night if necessary.

We have successfully used this Raspberry Pi server solution at the last two Armadas. The important thing is to make sure that clients are setup as Push-to-Talk (PTT) and that the talk threshold is set high enough to overcome background noise. A decent noise canceling mic helps too.

There might be a Privateer Longbow or Strongbow in play (Eastern Front Online group, Bridge name Fulminatae), but could be marked as a off color TSN scout and TSN battleship
