Role Play Missions

These are game mastered missions intended for crews that want to get into their characters crew members aboard a starship. More than mere tactical problems, winning a role play mission involves understanding the motivations, strengths, and weaknesses of all of the characters presented by your game master. To be selected for one of these you should explain what your crew will do to behave more like a character in a science fiction film than a player in a game. Uniforms, ranks, relationships and rivalries between characters might all count as plusses, but the most important factor is skill at role playing.

Patrol Station Zebra

(Light Cruiser in The War of Hegemony)

This role-play mission was the hit of GenCon 2014 and it’s now available at Artemis Armada.

Your ship has just been rotated from the front lines to a backwater sector where you have the job of protecting cargo transports. Suddenly Skaraan ships come swarming in from every direction, their weapons locked on your cargo ships. Using their cloaking devices, jump drives, and other Skaraan tricks they are sure to cause havoc. And why are the Skaraans so angry? Good luck!

Protocol Omega

(Scout in Peacetime)

A routine peacetime patrol on the Kralien border turns into a crisis of galactic proportions when a TSN Science Vessel makes a discovery. Will your crew risk war in a suicide mission against impossible odds? Or will you discover the secret of the rŭŝq gotaŝ in time to save the galaxy?

They sound like interesting/fun missions. Will they ever be realised to the wider community to play?

Ah, I didn't know these would be application missions as well. I will definitely apply for them. One or two of my crew might do better without cameras on them. [biggrin]

And I have more good news for crews who want uniforms! Artemis Armada One will see the premier of numerous official Artemis costuming accessories. There will be new patches, sashes, epaulets, gauntlets, etc., to help your crew look keen and professional. The designer tells me that you will want to have matching shirts, preferably with long sleeves.

If you have questions please ask and I will try to find answers. See you in a few days!
