Hi,

I am relying on android for my bridge and therefore hope to post some useful suggestions.

The only thing I have thought of so far when using android is the graphics. It looks like android uses a lower texture version than the PC version of the game. It would be great if the android app were to contain graphics options so a full version of the graphics were available if desired.

Thanks for a great game and a superb app.

The android app may not be capable of the same resolution. I've noticed that the background starfield does not move on the Fighter console, although I believe it does move for the Mainscreen of a ship. It's possible that while it can display a 360 degree rotation of a view, making it move in 3 dimensions takes too much processing power.

It's possible that their could be an option for high powered tablets, though.

Interestingly I did some further experimenting with the app today and found that the graphics looked very similar in most areas. The one place I have spotted where they are different is on one of the space stations. I will do some more comparisons and start a list of differences if that would be of any use to anyone?

Actually, such a list might be useful. There's very little on the wiki about the Android app itself, outside of "downgrading" instructions for use with the PC version if you want to mix PC and tablets.

I found a couple of things myself:

1) Although Scripted Missions are available, you can only use the missions that come with the game. There's no way to modify the game files or add missions to the Android installation, like you can with the PC version. This means you can't change the configuration in artemis.ini either.

2) The Android version has no GM console. Presumably this is because of the above, not only does it take effort to implement it, there is only one mission (Module_3_Bases) it could be used with anyway.

3) The Android version has no War Server mode. (Although an Android client could connect to a server running on a PC which was connected to the War Server)

4) As I mentioned above, the background does not move on the Fighter console. The Fighter console also has no horizon line.

While I posted some of this on the wiki, I posted it on the page for that feature (GM console, Fighter console) and not on a page specific to the Android release. I think potential bridge builders might want to know the possible limitations of a tablet only bridge, other than the version number lagging behind. Maybe we could use a page for Android and iOS specifically?

I'll note that while I have the Android version, I very rarely test it. I'm mainly focused on the PC version.
