Hello, folks! If you were eligible for the $5 discounted copy of Artemis, and have yet to use it, or your codes have expired and you have been dragging your feet... NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT! Both the $5 upgrade and the free-if-you-bought-within-three-months-of-release-2.0 offers are expiring this weekend! Thank you, --Brian C. Johnson Community Manager

That's good to know! Hopefully anyone else who still needs to get the upgrade gets it quickly!

If you had the code but it expired you would need to send a contact us request. I believe the codes will not be reissued now that the promo itself has expired as opposed tonjust the codes.

All emails in my queue have been responded to, and I back-checked Spam folders just in case. Zach, let me know if you didn't get a response, I'll set you up by hand! --Brian

I guess I've been out of the loop... I bought my copy of Artemis at least a year ago and did upgrade to version 1.702, but I had no idea about version 2.0 or an upgrade discount. What are the differences between 1.702 and 2.0? Version 2.0 is an entirely new purchase?

2.0 was a 5 dollar upgrade fee to get it. There were several new features such as being able to climb and dive, a new enemy type, the biomechs, new missions involving allied ships needing help, a new PvP mode, and several other alterations. 2.1 is going to hopfully be coming out soon here as well, which will be a free upgrade if you already have 2.0. Some of the new features are a new game mode (deep strike, in which you bring the fight to the enemies and destroy THEIR bases for once), new station types for allied stations, a new client for observers (you can cycle through the different things the mainscreen displays yourself), and some other things. 2.1 will hopefully be out in around a month (based on Thom wanting to know some final things he could add in in a month's time before he releases 2.1). I believe if you want to get 2.0 and all future updates now, you would need to re-buy the game either on Steam (one copy = 1 person) or a new bridge license from the official website.

I had no idea the $5 was temporary deal. I was just thinking about playing this again, last time was about a year ago, and now I have to pay another $40... That is very disappointing. An email reminder would have been a reasonable courtesy. Now you will probably not get any more of my money instead of the $5. Sorry but I only played this game(which was definitely an evolving and beta-like package) a handful of times when I managed to get a group to play. Now that I feel cheated it will be a hard pill to swallow in handing you another $40.

Update: I just read the advertisement email again and there is no mention of a deadline at all. My codes which were issued as a licence "entitlement" do not have an expiration. Please contact me at the email address attached to this post with instructions on how to redeem my codes. Thanks! Email with codes masked. Entitlement verbiage I have also made bold by me. No other changes :Here are your coupon codes for Artemis V2.0.
The PC version of Artemis SBS is now available.
The PC bridge license will remain $40 USD. Players (like you) who have already purchased an Artemis PC bridge license are entitled to a coupon, so they can buy V2.0 for the upgrade price of $5 USD.
You can currently buy the game digitally from two companies; FastSpring, and MyCommerce/RegNow. Here are your coupon codes, and the websites you can buy V2.0 from:

We are NOT charging for ALL upgrades now. PC V2.0 is the first time we've charged for anything beyond your initial purchase, and it's because V2.0 is such a major re-build of the game. We've NEVER said that ALL upgrades will be free, and never said that customers are buying an unfinished or risky product.
But we don't expect to charge owners anything for V2.1, or V2.5, just like we never charged for V1.1, or V1.5.
We have ALWAYS offered a 100% no-questions money-back guarantee for
Artemis , and we always will. For PC digital downloads, it's easy to refund the credit/debit card you used. However, Apple, Amazon, and Google have much more restrictive systems for handling refunds on the IOS and Android versions. If you want a refund for those versions, you may have to contact us directly at
artemissbs@gmail.com , and we'll have to use paypal to give you the refund.
If all other options are closed, I'm happy to write a refund check and snail-mail it to you.
If you bought an
Artemis PC bridge license less than 90 days before PC V2.0 is released, send an email to
artemissbs@gmail.com , and attach proof of purchase (forwarding your email receipt works). We will reply with a download link for the 2.0 version, so you don't have to pay $5.
V2.0 is not backward compatible with 1.7. So keep your 1.x installer files, think twice before you delete them or overwrite them.
We recommend that you install V2.0 as a new game. Don't install OVER your existing 1.X installation.
We're working on the IOS and Android versions. they're coming, but they won't be done by August 14.
Thank you for purchasing Artemis SBS!

Man this bums me out quite a bit. I wish an email had gone out to notify people of the change in policy. Since there was no original expiration date attached to the first email as the previous poster had pointed out. Kinda puts a sour taste in my mouth to be honest. Considering I supported you guys for years, through getting it greenlit and rebuying the game on steam just to support you guys. It's unfortunate that I can't upgrade my bridge license from 1.7 to 2.0 now
