It's my understanding that the Steam version is, in essence, the exact same client but runs from a different folder through the Steam launcher. Under the hood, though, it's the same software so, once a server is started, any other client (Original Recipe, Steam, iOS or Android) should be able to connect to it on the LAN.

I successfully connected Android and Windows versions. They are designed to be interoperable, that's what the game is all about. [wink]

Yea, the IOS versions were just updated so it should work. Be advised though, it seems as though first gen devices arn't working. I think it was just the first gen devices, but I'm not sure.

Odd. I wonder, why can it not be gifted in France? Steam has strange rules.

One more advantage of the full Bridge License version: I believe Thom intends the bridge license for your full bridge, not necessarily six computers. So if your bridge wants to add a Captain's Map, Observer, and Game Master you could do all of that with one full Bridge License. To do that with the Steam version you would need to buy nine copies, or so I believe.

I was wondering about that. With all the additional screens being added, I figured they were useless unless the license included the addition of those screens. The Game Master in particular I figured was included since it is only needed if you are running a Gamemastered module.

With the Data screen you could potentially have 12 screens running. I'll note, though, that Data and Observer are really just cosmetic displays and aren't interactive. The six main interactive displays are Helm, Weapons, Engineering, Science, Comms and the Captain's Map, plus the server/Mainscreen for multiship is seven, and then there is an eighth license for the Game Master if needed.

That's if Thom wants to make it that formal, which I don't think he does. [biggrin]

I also wonder if the Steam license includes multiple displays on your single system. With Android and iOS it's a moot point since most don't support dual window execution, and Artemis probably doesn't support it on the ones that do. So tablets are stuck with one client per device.

You can run multiple instances on a PC by opening the exe directly rather than through the steam library
