I thought LowVis came into view at 3000 meters, not 2500? And that the Fighter's reticle (not just the directional display) could appear on target at 8000, not 5000? Did you confirm these numbers as part of your testing?

I did indeed. I positioned a shuttle on top of the ship, and used the GM Console to summon a Skaraan which I tracked at different distances. LowVis exactly halves Helm and Weapons sighting distance, and the reticle appears at 5000.

You can actually confirm this because the enemy ship will appear to a Fighter first, and then some time later, the reticle and ID will appear. (Note that's with the Speed Brake on) You can also confirm that an object that just enters the range where the directional indicator appears is not yet visible when you turn to face it.

Honestly, I like the idea that a Skaraan with LowVis could sneak up on a fighter from behind and not be spotted by the directional indicator until it's almost right on top of you. Of course, Science can see it coming and warn the fighter, but that would be the point.
